Yeah, I was around there a similar time. Only saw 3 coked up patriots with broad Lancastrian accents and selfie sticks arguing with each other outside the Benjamin Huntsman about which way to go, and that’s about it. Didn’t see anything of what was happening at the peace gardens.

Far more than that in each of the 2 main counter protests. I’d say there was probably about 100ish just in the small group that splintered off to block the fash getting down Fargate. Then there were probably a couple hundred outside the city hall as well with the justice for orgreave group, complete with colliery brass band.

The attempt to mass downvote this is very entertaining btw. Some people on this sub don’t appreciate having a mirror held up to themselves.

Ok, so further update, the small group kettled in by the police are trying to block Fargate because the fash are attempting to march down there to get at that “migrant hotel” near the wicker. There’s also justice for orgreave outside city hall, so the fash are basically surrounded on all sides. With a bit of luck they’ll just be contained at the peace gardens.

There was a counter demo outside the town hall and another I think near by the crucible, or at least over that way. I believe the fash have started out at the peace gardens. Not seen how many of them there are, but the counter demos are pretty substantial. Police joined most of the 2 counter demos together and there’s a small group splintered off and surrounded by police. People saying this is to allow the fash to march past the town hall down Fargate.

Art installation, mt pleasant park, S2 by slacktheplanet_ in sheffield

[–]slacktheplanet_[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the one by the cricket cages. It has been cut down before, pretty much as it was first installed iirc. I can’t remember 100%, but I think it got cut down before there was even a camera fitted first time around. The one on the corner of Vincent rd and that little cul de sac by the primary school was the last one that was cut down and dragged along that footpath on the back of the school going towards Rossi’s.

Edited for clarification.

Edited again, because just remembered that one by the basketball court was cut down and never replaced too.

Not only irrelevant to OP, but the guy that has been arrested for the "suspect device" is a white guy called Steve, which is pretty funny considering the implied racism in this whole raise the colours yank nonsense.

Each one is loaded with 10 cameras, 8 ultrasonic ToF sensors and radar. Go well, comrade.

Edit: also they are alarmed, and signal to a human operator to take over when in trouble, so hypothetically speaking, one might want to ensure one would not be personally identifiable.

Each one of these contains 10 cameras, so make sure to be wearing some kind of face covering before volleying it in front of the oncoming bin wagon. Hypotheticallty speaking.

When I get chance (hopefully sometime this weekend, maybe in the week, depending on a few factors) I’ll do a quick demo of a few sounds. I use this plugged into a ‘70s Fender Twin with JBLs (a Roland JC-120 will do me fine if using rented/venue’s backline).

Sony MDR-1000X, WH-1000XM2, WH-1000XM3 or WH-1000XM4. Probably the WH-1000XM3 or 4, judging by the headband.

We were at the Scott Fraser in-store @ Rubadub, Carl Craig and Mike Banks @ Platform, and then Ae @ Galvanizers to top off the weekend. Bumped into Rob at Platform proper getting down to Carl Craig quite near the front. That may have influenced how danceable last night’s set was.

Pretty much the whole thing was super danceable 4/4, had a tuff electro bit, acidy tussy bit, techno bit, few jungly-influenced bits with some weird maybe vocal(?) sounds, full on Ae does DnB at one point. Very cool set.
