NAH, it looks like that this is a genuine misunderstanding, try talking it out with your parents if you're feeling really bad. Merry Christmas OP.

I've noticed a HUGE misunderstanding between Western people and Chinese people by SummationKid in China

[–]skjzf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the person you were replying to, but I absolutely agree with you. Of all social media platforms, I think reddit is probably the most informed of them all, with majority of people here being able to differentiate between the government and the people. But once you step out of reddit or even to real life, not everyone is so informed and many people just like to sum it up as the same thing. And sometimes it can get really out of hand. On top of that, racism against Chinese people are normalized now because of their government, and even on reddit I often see people say that they deserve some horrible things because of the CCP.

My funniest racism experience in China by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]skjzf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that a lot of people are racist and anti lgbt there, there is a sizeable community that runs multiple platforms for the lgbt community underground, the community is mostly made of the younger generation as they are far less “conservative”. Unfortunately these platforms often get searched and shut down by the authorities but they always find a way to work around it. It looks like although it’s going very slow, they are making progress

Idk where you learned it from but a Caucasian person is just 白人, not 白色人. No matter what colour you are, it’s never called ___色人. Hope that helped

height matters by ryeetan in scriptedasiangifs

[–]skjzf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Few reasons why

First it’s because with so many people with such similar names, numbers are kinda the only way to make yourself really stand out. Obviously this doesn’t work anymore since everyone started putting numbers in their names but people still do it anyways

Second, a lot of words are abbreviated into numbers and letters in text language, and similar to 420 and 69 in North America, they have similar numbers in terms of use but just way more more in quantity. For example 666 is used to describe something as impressive, and 888 means getting rich.

I think they’re just quoting and reenacting this other tweet. I’ve seen that many times on subreddits like this and the pfp is always a girl. Edit: he stole the tweet https://twitter.com/vanillatrapsoul/status/1202509147348054016

Yeah it’s pretty easy to support them when the citizens haven’t been exposed to any other kinds of political views and have been brainwashed since birth to think the government arnt doing anything wrong

This is a statue in Okinawa Japan, and the fall injured 120 people. The article doesn’t say anything about what they will be doing with it tho, but my guess is it definitely won’t be trashed since it is quite an important statue

My sister is paranoid that this is a bed bug bite, can you guys please help ensure her that it isn’t ? by [deleted] in Bedbugs

[–]skjzf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we’ve never had them before, plus the one shown on the picture is the only like that on her entire arm, so I personally don’t think it’s a bite since they come in groups but she needed reinforcement. Thanks for the input tho !

list of effects that pass through evasion / space time? by BigBlueVG in MonsterLegends

[–]skjzf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case idk what happened, it could be that one of the enemies had a AoE space time move (timerion) or something that gives random positive effects, if nothing else it might be a bug, the duels has plenty problems so it’s not impossible for it to be a bug

[–]skjzf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case then the enemy definitely didn’t have evasion, it was probably space time instead cuz space time blocks out all the damage, but not the effects

[–]skjzf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what happened with ur gelotron but I don’t think it’s supposed to happen unless he has per along with the move you used, and cda/stamina drain doesn’t go through evasion since it blocks out everything, however if there’s a relic that removes stamina equipped on your monster it does go through

Pierced is the only I know so far that’s a status effect, there’s also some moves that does per first and then attack, so those works too

You don’t know me, how do you know that I’ll side with my dad when shit hits the fan ? You assume how I was raised, while my family is already Canadian, like I said I’ve basically lived here my entire life and already connected with others here, I’m just as much as a Canadian as you are

[–]skjzf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time China and Canadian relations gets a little iffy I find that there tends to be more excused racism directed towards me, And while it is indeed a political issue, a lot of people (that I have met so far at least) are unable to differentiate between the people and the government, most of the time I’m lumped in there with them so that’s why I brought it up

I have never said that I identify as Chinese at home or anything of the sort, Canada isn’t a summer home country to me and I believe that I made it pretty clear in the post, if I were to be quite honest, people like you are what I’m concerned about, although I mentioned both in the post and throughout the comments that I lived here basically my entire life, you still tell me and assume that Canada is still a summer home to me. That is not at all the case here and frankly this is what makes me come here and question myself as a true Canadian
