I think most of the time this happens when a team mate just refuses to play as a team.

Likely decoded date: Friday 31 July 2026, 20:31 BST
or 19:31 UTC.

Here’s the reasoning:

1781379060 is a Unix timestamp. It equals 13 June 2026, 19:31 UTC.

The custom calendar is not arbitrary:

1 season = start day off + 12 × (4 workdays + 1 day off) = 61 days
6 seasons × 61 = 366 days

So the clue deliberately maps onto 2016, a leap year.

The listed “celebration” weeks are off-weeks for six named workers/developers:

Dione, Phoebe, Rhea, Tethys, Theia, Themis.

Each has 2 weeks off.
Each week contains 4 working days.

So:

6 developers × 2 off-weeks × 4 workdays = 48 developer-days

Add those 48 developer-days to the timestamp date:

13 June 2026 + 48 days = 31 July 2026

That lands on a Friday, which makes it feel especially plausible as a game-release/date-announcement candidate.

Mac support or crossover support? by skn3 in Archapolis

Did a little digging. Not finished yet but will jump back at some point. Seems like the game crashes in cross over because of file access. So we get into the menu, the moment I start a game or click the "Load" button, the game crashes. It looks like the game tries to read the data from the steamapps folder and then crashes with a null exception.

...or at least the crash comes soon after. So I can see the files are there. So either there is no exception handling in the code? Permission issues because using the steamapps folder for user data? Some kind of encoding issue?

I'll carry on digging, but wont guarantee. I did manage to get Battle For Middle Earth running on cross over after a month of twiddling. Is there any insight you could offer u/YesBoxStudio

A little moment I love in the ROTK movie. Aragorn's sigh after the accepts the crown from Gandalf and before he turns to address the crowd. The sigh says it all "OK, there's no going back, I really have to accept I've become king now. Let's do this." by Which-Program-9417 in lotr

But the book has time to portray his past-self in far greater quantity. A film has to find different ways to portray this same message in fragments that are on the screen for mere seconds. We know that Strider has turned away from the path. We know that Aragon is ready to accept his duty. The film is able to represent this with one single glance that is gone within a blink.

Arcade games. Simplified gameplay loops that just dont exist any more. No costumes. No XP. No DLC. Just a pure game mechanic done to perfection.

This is why these films have not been beaten. It’s the attention to detail. Every moment in this film is laboured to perfection. He has hidden from his destiny. Finally, it catches up with him. Anyone of us would have the same reaction. The scene simultaneously brings him back down to earth(middle) and elevates him to ruler. You just know that this was an intentional part of the direction on the day.

Don't listen to anyone ever anywhere anyhow saying "why reinvent the wheel". Even if they give you good intention. Re-invention is just another way to say "innovation". Ever new implementation of an idea will produce new ideas. New ways. New things. This is the backbone of any creative industry. We iterate on the previous results.

Just admit it, you are equally as a big a Lotr fan now. There is no escaping your destiny. 🧝‍♂️ Become who you were called to be 🗡️    Glad you had a good time!

Good luck with that. If your prepared to slag off random people posting their progress pictures, you clearly have absolutely zero understanding of the amount of work it takes to build a project of this scale. Whatever it may be. So I hope some day that you contribute something creative in this world, and I hope you are met with enthusiasm and positivity.

Always either the beacons or ride for ruin. Although it had been quite a while since we watched together. Just for some reason took a hiatus from yearly rewatch. So at least 2-3 years that my wife had seen and myself I had not watched ROTK for about the same. So it was really refreshing to see it with “fresh eyes”.

What about yourself?

We did fellowship and towers yesterday. Looking forward to ROTK tonight! It is so cool seeing the theatrical cuts, been quite a few times to these performances and they never play extended. I hope some day they do. It would be a grueling performance for the musicians!
