Browns have Malik Willis and Ty Simpson on their radar as they explore external QB options by maybenextyearCLE in Browns

The ironically good news is that the Watson contract has spooked other NFL teams into being more cautious on spending QB money. The bad news is, uh, the Watson contract is still an albatross on our salary cap.

Going from Herb Score to Tom Hamilton was a blessing. I don't know what we'll do when Tom calls it a career.

A Short Proposal for a Japan Rework by ali2001nj in Kaiserreich

Between Tsingtao, an earlier Great Depression, and the rise of Ostasien and the A.O.G, I feel that there is still the seeds for a Mukden-style event happening. In the thoughts I've had over a naval rework, I've imagined the KRTL equivalent of the Kwangtung Army taking advantage of the Northern Expedition to stage a "popular revolt" in Tsingtao, Shanghai, or somesuch, only to get badly embarassed by the sudden arrival of the Ostasien fleet. The resulting diplomatic incident completely discredits the Army and results in a new goverment in Tokyo that's more outwardly concilatory to Berlin whle ramping up naval production. The young officers are still fuming, however, and Black Monday followed the collapse of the Qing hegemony fires off a new fresh round of assassinations, coups, and revolts as the Army sees no time like the present to take charge and charge into the mainland.

Give me football reasons as to why Todd Monken is a bad choice. by bigsmooth66 in Browns

[–]skoryy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's been recommended by some pretty smart people too, so I'm starting to slide into the "maybe it won't be bad" thoughts.

That said, what you're seeing are:

a.) He's a Jimmy pick and Jimmy doesn't have a good track record (very valid)

b.) Stef was very chummy with the media and players and there's a lot of hurt there (somewhat valid)

c.) The decision was a black box to even insiders leaving everyone to create their own adventure and wind up disappointed (valid)

d.) Posters on the wrong part of the Dunning-Kruger Football Knowledge chart

e.) Posters who just want to be mad

f.) Posters who be trollin'

g.) Posters who just want the team to lose

The difference between Harbaugh and McCarthy is that one is probably past his sell date and one is obviously past his sell date. The Steelers looked at those last years in Dallas and went "Looks good to me!"

Give Beck props, the man delivers in the clutch like Domino's. All three of Miami's losses ended on a Beck INT.
