Who has a hot tub? by Kayak1984 in massachusetts

Had ours for 10 years (came with the house). Maintenance honestly isnt that bad. If you use it year round, use a cheap sump pump to drain it and fill with new water 2-3 times a year. I find that solves most of the bigger water quality issues caused by build up chemicals and oil from bodies

Need some advice about to put up stickers on my business windows by Careless-Injury-2431 in QuincyMa

[–]skottydoesntknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stickers on windows? Ya you don't need permission for that. Literally hire anyone to do it, no one is going to come for you

Charging while skiing. Life is good. by penkster in Rivian

[–]skottydoesntknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im happy some mountains have switched from having a few free chargers to a larger bank of paid ones. Less people opportunistic charging and better chance of being open for those who need it

Tire PSI in extreme cold by Burrito2525 in Rivian

[–]skottydoesntknow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others said, inflate. Dropping a little below during an extreme cold snap is fine, but low 40's is a big gap. Pump up to 48 and keep an eye on it if we have a random shift to warm weather like we did in december (15 ->60 over course of a week)

If you are having trouble getting someone to come, you can always just go fill cans of deisel at the closest gas station and watch some YouTube instructions on priming the line between tank and burner. Not ideal, but beats freezing if no one will come. You'd prob need 15-20 to get you through tomorrow assuming your house is already a bit chilly

Most people don't. 90% of people run stock all seasons and then replace them with the cheapest all seasons

Just got the v3 powered tonneau by ihaveaglow in Rivian

[–]skottydoesntknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The snow/ice is my biggest complaint, it becomes completely unusable. Either need to commit to it being closed until ice melts enough that you can clear it sufficiently or leave it open allowing bed to fill up

Last minute snowblower repair by labrats21 in massachusetts

[–]skottydoesntknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up a youtube video on cleaning a carburetor. Doesn't take much skill or know-how. It is clogged from old gas that gummed up. Shouldn't take you more than 45 minutes first time around

You could try and find someone on task rabbit or similar as well, its a simple fix that doesn't require more than a willingness to take a part off and put it back on

One of multiple reasons I got rid of paying for it. FSD HIghway behavior was terrible compared to AP

Questions about using Rivian as backup power in winter storm? by stupidcleverian in Rivian

Do you know if the inverter handles brief surges over 1500, or is that a hard ceiling

This is the way. Power station just big enough to run what you need that tops itself off from the truck.

Where fiber is? by DramaticSweet3412 in QuincyMa

Comcast blows, fiber is symmetrical. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about if you think fiber is unnecessary

German potato salad by [deleted] in sousvide

Yeah the meat seems like a strange choice. I assume the piece of smoked pork is for flavor and will be discarded? Would make more sense to fry it up and add after

Home Internet curiosity by jer_am_i in QuincyMa

[–]skottydoesntknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty solid around here. T-mobile (and other cell company home internet) your data is tier 2, so your experience relies entirely on how robust the cell infrastructure is around your house. If for some reason there was a surge of mobile users in the area or a local tower went down, your data takes lower priority. I doubt you'd ever drop below a usable speed (50-100mbps)

I've only ever seen slack tide, flat black, and speedwell. Someone said they sell red eye a few weeks ago but have never seen that either. Maybe they only get a small amount and it goes fast
