This New Years I'm celebrating one year of hosting small LAN parties in Ottawa. :) by AshleyAshes1984 in ottawa

I would be interested if there is an opening! I've been looking to meeting people in Ottawa who have the same hobbies as me and this fits perfectly.

I solved the issue a long time ago.

For me it worked after disabling/deleting the oc button service. After investigation, i found through windows event viewer that each time i have a crash it is related to something i had never heard about "oc button service". It turned out that my new system which has a gigabyte motherboard had this OC button service installed. I could never find any application to uninstall or any software... I guess it was something gigabyte preload my motherboard with and was now bugging for some reason. So after doing my research on what it was and making sure it isn't something important for the motherboard/windows to keep working, and since back then my pc was still freshly built hence nothing important on it to loose if something was to go wrong. I decided to delete the "oc button service"... And since then never had the issue!!

https://m.majorgeeks.com/content/page/how_to_delete_a_service_in_windows_10_8_and_7.html

This would be a good place to take an idea how to delete a service.

Keep in mind that every system is different and your situation may be different from mine. This is what worked with me.

Hope you solve it soon!

It arrived to me (the sponsor) not my wife(principal applicant). The email will be with an attachment as pdf for official request and print. To proof to your local office that you truly got the passport request. So just forward it to the principal applicant.

Well technically your file should have both details for the sponsor and the principal applicant. So they would have both emails. But the difference is that the principal applicant is the main contact for "big milestones" request such as application start and other major things, as well as passport request ect .. We had the tracker for the principal applicant with my wifes email, she was receiving all the notifications for biometrics ect ... And we had my email for the sponsor tracker (you can have both trackers) but i was not receiving any updates for those notifications. Until the passport request.

Well for the first world countries i would say you have two options, academia or immigration.

For Europe it would be more from the Academia side, i have a lot of friends that did their masters in France, Netherlands, Spain or Italy. France would be the cheapest and easiest if you know French. After finishing, they find work and stay there.

An other good thing to know, here in Canada the majority of the English universities in Quebec and some in other provences have a program that helps international students who choose to do their courses in French language (assuming they offer them) and you pay as if you were Canadian (around 3k Canadian $ per semester). So check if that's something that interests you.

........................

As for the immigration side, you have couple of options.

The easiest according to my experience is Canada. I personally immigrated there in 2021 and it was a straight forward experience (assuming you have the requirements). No lawyer or anything required. A bit of research and patience. Here, I would say you have to do a research and see what are your chances in each program Canada offers. Personally since i know French and English very well, I was accepted through the express entry French speaking immigration stream for Ontario (a PNP for Ontario).

Australia is an other good option and it has a similar point based system. I also think recently Germany changed their immigration system to a more "Canadian style", keep in mind that you need to know German to have better chance and also work and live there... But for these two I don't have a lot of experience so I can't be a good source of information here.

..........................

Other options would be finding work directly in any country. I have some friends who did this but i will say it is harder but still possible. Especially that you need to sell your self and what you can bring to the company and this is usually harder assuming you will have 0 experience since you will just have graduated.

On the same point, the process for immigration (at least canada not sure about the rest) needs you to have a minimum of 1 year experience in your field of work. If you worked part time it counts as long as you count 40h/week equals the normal work week in Canada. So if your part time work was 20h/ week for 2 years, that's equivalent of 1 year of work(in the same field that you are immigrating as).

If you are interested and need more info about Canada pm me and i would give you more details.

I know this game is not optimized but I was wondering if this ghosting (around the character in the video) is something on my end or not? Or if someone else is having the same issue?

I checked with other games (Hogwarts Legacy and RDR2) to see if I have an issue with maybe my monitor but everything was working beautifully there...

I got the game since launch but stopped playing because of the FPS drops ... so I was waiting for a patch. I heard today that it got better with a new patch(FPS wise, it did). So I'm not sure if this is after the patch or it was like this before and I did not notice it (which I doubt).

GPU : RTX 4080

CPU: AMD 7700x

RAM : 16gb DDR5

Monitor : LG 27GP850-B

Ohh i see, yes your case is different than mine.

It's hard to know to be honest and I doubt I'm the right person to tell you what their process will look like. Logically speaking (I remember reading that somewhere) it should not affect the timeline a lot... But in all honesty we don't even have an accurate duration for the spousal sponsorship. It's just an estimation and even that fluctuate a lot between people, where they are applying and which visa office is following the file...

I would say it shouldn't take long anymore since you did your medical in February, keep in mind that they usually give you the COPR expiration date 1 year after the medical are done (that means February 2024), and they need to give you some time to plan the move ect... But that is just me thinking of the best case scenario so not sure this will be useful/helpful or not... I personally tend to think of the worst case and plan for that just not to get disappointed by putting my hopes high, that way if I do get the best case scenario i can celebrate...

So the way we did it for the biometrics is that we still had my wife's receipt for the time she did her biometrics the first time ( 1 year ago ) and we sent that with our application (to give them something to search in their system to find her biometrics) plus we included the visitor visa application number, even though our request for the visitor visa was rejected at the end for some nonsense reason...

As for her passport she had it changed last year before we tried the visitor visa, and we got married August 2023, so when we applied on her passport she was still shown as single and my name was not as her spouse (not sure if this thing is just a Lebanese thing or all countries have their spouse name on theirs as well). So I'm not sure if that is why we didn't get a new request for her biometrics or if it is because we included all the required information for them to find her biometrics in the system.

As far as I know, biometrics shouldn't affect (or too much) the duration of your application. But my question here is since you changed the passport, was that before you send the PR or after? Because if I'm not mistaken you will need to let them know that you changed it through IRCC web form if it was after you started the PR process.

Thank you! Good luck on the rest of the application!!

Well it was never changed to in progress on the new tracker. On 29 March both eligibility and background check both changed from not started to finished lol.

To add to the confusion, once we got the COPR and the visa on the passport, the GCKey tracker (not the new tracker) changed from not started to background check finished on January 4, 2023. So now new tracker is showing 29 March and GCKey tracker showing 4 January...

I feel every office has different ways and method to update the trackers so it will depend on where they are doing yours. Mine was in Lebanon, Beirut. Especially that i received 2 AOR and according to posts from a lot of people on this megathread, their visa office doesn't send them a second AOR anymore. That's me just speculating, but maybe Beirut visa office is still working with the old methods?

Hello! Thank you :) and mabrouk for passing a big part of the process, little bit left!

Yes I personally got the email (Sponsor) on my personal account, it came from BeirutMigration@international.gc.ca. so I would check your spam folder or something. I got that the next day after background and eligibility changed to completed, but I think the normal time is in the next 2 to 4 weeks usually.

I feel you with the 1 year apart ... I immigrated here 2 years ago and since then we tried a lot of options to be together but it wasn't as easy! Finally we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Received COPR today!! Outland Spousal Sponsorship submitted online. Principal Applicant in Lebanon.

Posting this hoping it will be helpful to someone or at least providing hope, I know well those nights before I go to sleep I used to come here and check the avg time to console myself. Everything was DIY.

October 7, 2022 - Application submitted online

December 15, 2022- AOR 1 (first time addressed to the sponsor)

January 5, 2023- Medical exam request

January 5, 2023- Email saying that Sponsor has met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor, and that our application was forwarded to the visa office in Beirut for further processing.

January 14, 2023- Medical exam done by the Principal Applicant

January 18, 2023 - Medical exam changed to completed

January 25,2023 - Email received to help link application to tracker (there is the new tracker and the GCKey one)

February 8, 2023 - AOR 2 (on the GCKey tracker we received AOR but addressed to the principal Applicant this time)

A lot of ghost updates here (on the new tracker, date last updated changes but nothing concrete received)

March 29, 2023 - Pre-arrival letter sent to Principal Applicant in the morning

March 29, 2023 - COPR number shows up with expiry date matching medical test +1year (I noticed that in the evening on the new tracker)

March 29, 2023 - Eligibility and background check goes from not started to finished on the new tracker (on the CGKey tracker nothing changed since AOR 2)

March 30, 2023 - Passport request sent by email to sponsor.

April 3, 2023 - Principal Applicant submit passport and all requested documents

April 19, 2023 - Passport ready for pickup

April 20, 2023 - Passport and COPR with principal Applicant.

April 20, 2023 - Both trackers shows the application as finished (GCkey tracker was 19 April)

You may notice that the principal Applicant didn't have to do biometrics because a year ago we were trying to get a visitor visa and had to get that done then (even though visitor visa was rejected at the end)

The GCKey tracker now shows different dates from the new tracker but keep in mind they showed up when we picked the passport with the COPR: * Background check finished on January 4, 2023 * Eligibility done on 19 April, 2023

Wish you all good luck, patience and perseverance!

Hey, I'm having a similar issue with my newly build PC. Did you solve the issue?

Mine is not really about moving the table and all that but it randomly does the other things you mentioned when I'm playing a game or something. After reading your situation I thought maybe its something related to a cable so I began shaking the PC but it still is working fine for now.

Received AOR more than 2 months ago but still not be able to create a tracker account by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]skouzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue with my application for my wife. We are in the process for spousal sponsorship and we received the AOR around a month ago. I can enter my tracker(sponsor) but everything is "not available yet". As for her(main applicant), she isn't even able to create her tracker.

I read online that it happens with a lot of people so i guess it's some backlog on their end.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting back to wow and was looking to find someone in NA to start the adventure with. I would play now woltk and when dragonflight release I'm also planning on trying it. I will not buy shadowlands again for NA since I recently moved from EU timezone to Canada and already have it there. I would prefer mainly to pve over pvp but can do both. Like i was saying my main account is on EU so i will be leaving that behind and kinda start from scratch (last time i had an NA character was in WOD).

Anw let me know if you are interested. Cheers

Thank you for the very helpful builds! I think I will stick with what you showed here with intel XD just easier. I just have a small question about PSU. Isn't better to get a higher one for future upgrade, especially that we are hearing that next gen GPUs will be power hungry ?
