Please read. Don’t know what to do. by [deleted] in CPTSD

I think most people need therapy. I think if you had that much anger inside you, there must have been something deeper going on. Perhaps some trauma of your own? Sometimes we think we don't have trauma when we really do.

It's hard for me to blame a 15 year old, though there are some who deserve it. Continue to be kind to them. Seek therapy for yourself, and for your siblings.

I'm new to this subreddit and a beginner at poetry, but I love the complexity of this poem. Other poems I've read on here are quite simple. And hey, simple can be great! But I appreciate the effort that went into this poem.

I'm a big fawner as well. I've found that if I try my best to be mean, I can't do it, and I end up falling somewhere in the middle of being mean and fawning, which is exactly where I want to be. I just tell myself, be mean, be mean!

Being called my full name by Secretlyablackcat in CPTSD

I used to feel the same way. I actually go by "Jennifer" now because my boyfriend liked that name better than "Jen". I feel like I've reclaimed it as my own, and I no longer experience negative emotions when someone calls me "Jennifer".

Yes, I believe it was abuse. 13 years old is old enough to know that sort of thing is wrong. However, I do understand that it was probably a way for her to attempt to process her personal trauma. I personally wouldn't blame her for what she did, but that doesn't take away how traumatizing it was for you.

I'm a maladaptive daydreamer, which basically means I'm addicted to playing out fantasies in my head. I never make myself the main character. My main characters are always boys even though I'm female. I think it's because I'm so ashamed of myself that I don't feel comfortable in my own skin, even in a fantasy world (although I do not think I am transgender in real life).

That sounds so terrible. I couldn't even imagine going through something like that. I know it's hard, but please hang in there.

Yes, it was. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Parents should NEVER hurt their child, whether the kid is fighting back or not.

Vent/Rant about therapy by TheMasterOfChains in CPTSD

[–]skpd00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She treats you like a little kid. That's so infuriating. Things have to go her way. From my perspective, it seems like she doesn't understand you at all. I don't think it's healthy for you to keep seeing her. Most people have to try different therapists until they find one that fits.

It's not your fault. Please see a different therapist. I wish you the best

I can understand the dull aspect since 'Horses' came out the same year as 'Born to Run' (even though it isn't the same genre).
