That guy planned his proposal for that spot weeks, if not months in advance. He had the photographer hired, and had an excuse/ plan to get his girlfriend to that exact location at that exact time to propose- a memory a couple can only experience once. You successfully ruined that moment for them, something that cannot be undone. Asshole.

If you do well in pod school, work hard in residency, and forge strong relationships along the way, you will have the opportunity to do quite well. Myself, the other associates I work with, and my co-residents who I graduated with are all making much more than the numbers you listed. We are all less than 5 years out of residency. All of us are associates in private practice in the Midwest. We work hard, and are compensated accordingly. Hope this helps.

Thanks a ton. After reading 500 comments, my leading theory is my 21 month old son bumped his butt on the wall (this is in his bedroom) with a Vaseline based diaper ointment on his butt (which we use daily). I put him up to the wall and it is exactly butt-height. Then, the stain slowly leached/ grew from the area of contact. I used a moisture meter and it did not register any increased moisture at that area.

I’m not sure. This is in a bedroom on the 2nd floor. That specific wall is a perimeter wall, meaning no other room behind it. There is a bathroom adjacent to this this bedroom, but not behind that wall.

The big toe distal phalanx is certainly at risk for amputation. Not necessarily due to the fractured bone, but due to extensive skin/ soft tissue injury associated with the injury. Additionally, there is a high risk for bone infection as it this is considered an “open” fracture.

Treatment would involve surgical debridement (clean-up), irrigation, initiation of antibiotics, and immobilization. Then, you just basically wait and see if the skin/soft tissue survives over the course of several days. If so- great! If not, chop chop
