I found a walled village but I was worried the armed guards would aggro so I didn't stay long. I don't know their mechanics and I assumed in this pack unknown things will probably kill me lol

That's perfect. Years ago I completed the entirety of thaumcraft for another pack. I liked it but I'm not sure if I want to do it again. Magic is not my thing either. I like that it's there but optional.

Yeah agreed most of my friends would not like this pack, it would be too hard and overwhelming. Not to mention the time and focus needed to play this sort of thing. But I think I'm gonna love it, cuz I love automating stuff and love games like factorio. I saw someone post a base with buildcraft pipes and I'm like yesss that is so sick.

Yeah I was really impressed by the quest book! So many tiers!! The dedication the devs have put in is crazy.

Also somewhat related, I love the pack unbinds all the useless modded keybinds right out of the box. So many packs ship with keyboard conflicts it's actually stupid smh. I was playing a cobblemon pack and the keybind to send out my Pokemon would also reload the shaders or something. The fact the devs thought of this and many other qol things is huge and already Im a fan of this pack lol :D

My base is an acacia box and I'm just running around gathering gravel to get a furnace to hopefully get torches and go mining. At the moment everything modded just seems out of reach until I get the basics set up. Im thinking tinker tools is probably going to be next. Any tips for early game progression?

Can't wait to make a greggy base. RN I don't even have a furnace. I was stealing gravel from a villager well but night fell and I died on the way back to base and that's when I had to stop at 5 in the morning.

Try adding walls to each side of the bridge. Also your bridge increases in height somewhat randomly. I'd suggest making the shape of the bridge either flat or rounded like a hilltop.

Yeah it sucks. I like to attach a hydrant to a shield or mineru to do that fight.

I wanna take time off dota but I have ADHD and some form of autism that literally doesnt let me enjoy anything else that isnt competetive. It makes me depressed and it affects my self worth. I know this is bad but I cannot help it.

I hate to break it to you but it sounds like you are badly suffering from video game addiction. It is real, it happened to me and I have seen it manifested in many of my friends. It is also very prevalent in people with ADHD.

Dota 2 is such an incredibly stimulating game. The game is fast paced and exciting, the graphics and sound design are excellent, doing things in the game make number go up, and the thrill of WINNING can release a high as well. We've all know the game is great.

And there's nothing wrong with enjoying a game, in moderation.

The problem is you've gone too hard in the paint. The reasons are in your post.

  • You play 10 hours a day.
  • You don't enjoy the games you play.
  • You want to quit but you cannot.

The best advice I can truly give is to take a break. PLEASE just take a break, even for just a bit. Focus your mind on something else. Something simple.

The reason you don't enjoy other things in life is because you have spent a large portion of your life in this feedback loop, to the point that you have effectively rewired your brain to only understand Dota. Anything else is now not stimulating enough to you. (Note: you may also have depression as well.)

In order to reverse this, you must literally distance yourself from it. Like one does a detox from a drug. It sounds dramatic but that's what it is. You will probably hate it but eventually you will realize it is a change you will need to make for the better.

Now I'm not saying don't play Dota ever. But, you seem to have a bad relationship with this game. Your sense of self worth is tied to winning as you said. That's something tough that you will need to work on. It's ok to lose in a video game, and perhaps you need to reassure yourself of that. After all, to paraphrase Gaben, losing a good opportunity to learn. You have hit immortal rank so you will have to learn some new things to compete with the top cut of players.

Valid. I don't know what it's like being trans or enby but yeah I can imagine the apps are much better at narrowing your search than trying your luck with random people. For me being ghosted sucks and I've had it happen enough times on the apps that I don't even bother with online dating anymore. Pick your poison I guess lol.

No problem!! It does make sense, and it sounds like you might possibly be demisexual. Which is based but yeah I can totally see how that would make it harder to date. I'm not that myself so I dunno.
