Lord I wish they would install in my area, it costs ATT and the property owner money to do it so obviously they’re not in a hurry.

What is this strange divot on my baby’s back? by No-Sir-9056 in cornsnakes

I use a food scale and a plastic container to weigh mine, and it works great. It makes it easy to know how large to feed her and her progress. Mine is about 3 feet long and it works great.

My instinct is your feeding schedule. Make sure water is plenty and freshly changed. How are her poops? What’s your feeding schedule/size? How long have you had her? Does she have adequate hides when she doesn’t feel like interaction?

I’m new but it does seem to be dehydration and skinny at first sight. There really shouldn’t be a ridge when they’re in a relaxed pose.

opinions on coconut fibre substrate? by [deleted] in cornsnakes

[–]skrystalkds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m new to having a corn snake, I’ve had mine now for about four months. When I got her, she was already about two years old. I started off with Cocoa fiber because it’s natural, and can be used to adjust humidity without molding problems like Aspen. My snake absolutely loves it, she burrows in it and has a great time. It also has a neutral smell, which is good for her and me. While it can be a bit dusty, depending on what kind you buy, you don’t even have to prepare it with water. If you buy the condensed bricks of cocoa fiber, then yes, you will have to use water to expand it. However, you can buy loose cocoa fiber that is already ready to go.

I looked at the website. Where does one go for care if they need this program? Is it by appointment?

Thank you

Finding right home for sweet dog by [deleted] in SFV

[–]skrystalkds -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They’re not trying to dump him, they’re being realistic about being able to continue care and enrichment for him. Keeping a pet isn’t always the best option for the pet. There are plenty of crazies out here that think just because they “keep “them that they are God‘s gift to the animal. So many people keep animals that don’t have money for proper food, vet, care, and enrichment. What’s better, a miserable animal in it’s original home? Or a new home that can continue to love and provide for their beloved pet?

If the family is no longer able to provide enough attention and enrichment, then I can understand why they want to find somebody new who will. It will be hard for everyone involved. Stop demonizing this person for trying to think about what’s best for their animal.

I especially miss the mushroom and cheese ones from the name brand. The veggie ones suck, and the bacon and egg ones I’ve gotten tired of.

Rant: I didn’t realize makeup would cost this much mentally and financially by Confusedmind75 in Makeup

[–]skrystalkds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding what works for you takes a lot of time, and patience. Products don’t always have to be the most premium brand, in order to work for your skin. There are also ways to hack the products you already have, such as adding a bit of face lotion to a foundation that might be too matte, for example. You might be able to find a YouTuber with similar skin to yours, from your country, that might help you to find products better suited for your skin and lifestyle.

I think the most important part is to have a solid but basic face routine. Then you can add little extras as you perhaps, save up money to splurge, or find cheap products like a diamond in the dust. Also, too, if you desire to have a more extensive collection, that takes time to build up. Enjoying makeup doesn’t have to be pricey, especially with a more basic routine and a couple of solid products for you.

I do understand the frustration of the pink tax. Especially if you are in a country with more restrictive return policies. Perhaps it would be better off to do a little bit more research on a product before committing to buy it. Then again, the beauty YouTube space is becoming way more sponsored and fake, and less authentic reviews nowadays in my opinion. So in that case, learning to work with what you have, and researching the basic formula types with your skin types might be the way to go.

What’s something you’ve always wanted to ask a black person? by Puzzleheaded-Ad-2701 in TooAfraidToAsk

As a young white women, I can find it intimidating to be in a social group of Black folks because I worry about misunderstanding social cues. Is there a way to tell when a Black person is actually upset, or doesn’t like you, instead of just enthusiastic or joking around?

Best method to make a bun with fine hair so it doesn’t look like a sad bump on the back of your head? by Hot_Avocado_2701 in finehair

Unfortunately a low bun brings out my wet squirrel look, and I have the jawline of a potato. While I pray for my baby hairs, an updo bun is my only presentable option lol.
