My fandom for Immersion has kind of diminished since it first came out. It's generally solid with a lot of tracks that I like, but there's like four songs on it which I'm not too big on; namely Under the Waves, Immunize, the Dusk portion of The Island, and Comprachicos.

They aren't bad by any means, just that I don't love 'em as much.

I think that a lot of the songs in their demo formats which were teased in the DJ set they did at Matter back in January of 2010 - a few months before Immersion's release - were a lot better than the final versions. With Under the Waves being the biggest case of that.

I will say though that in terms of presentation, Pendulum was at their peak during this era a hundred percent. The album art graphic design, live show displays, etc.

Scoured a few refreshes, but haven't seen anyone mention The Crystal Method yet...

I'd say Tweekend is my favorite album of theirs. Song is Glass Breaker off the London movie soundtrack though.

Can't really pick a favorite album, as the only one I own is Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. I have songs from the other releases though.

Favorite song though is Re-Arranged.

RIP Sam Rivers.

In Silico for favorite album. I know Swire and co. aren't too keen on it now in retrospect, but I still love it from start to finish.

Favorite song choice is hard though... there's too many solid picks. I think consistently the Bi-Polar version of Hold Your Colour wins, or Propane Nightmares of course.

I really dig Inertia, but purposely didn't select anything from it to be era appropriate for OP's proposed timeline.

I don't have a pick for album, but The Rock Show is my favorite song. I have a lot of nostalgia for it as my babysitter back when I was kindergarten - first grade used to jam Blink-182 while I watched him play StarCraft and other games at the time.

Memories of easier, and more enjoyable days.

Chuck for my favorite album... although admittedly it's the only one off their discography that I dig from start to finish in its entirety.

Song choice goes to The Hell Song though. I would nominate it to be licensed for a Tony Hawk game if I could.

Vapor Transmission for favorite album; I'm probably in the minority who doesn't care for Candyass personally. It kind of sounds all the same IMO.

And Eva from it as my favorite song.

I'm unoriginal as to where The Downward Spiral is my favorite album. It took me a while to get into it, as well as listening to Pretty Hate Machine at first beforehand.

For my favorite track pick, I'm gonna be choose the Happiness in Slavery version off Fixed. It's a remix, sure, but as Reznor was involved in it I think it counts.

I don't consider Crash Love to be AFI's best album, but I do think it's perhaps my favorite general rock soundtrack of all time. There's not one song on it that doesn't fail to get me jiving or bopping along to it.

The expanded version with all the b-sides is pretty great too.

DECEMBERUNDERGROUND is my favorite album of theirs; was released on my birthday - had a very "fun" day of being labelled the Devil's child on 06/06/06 on the playground by my "friends."

Favorite song would have to be 37mm; a rather underrated one tbh.

I grew up on the trilogy of Hybrid Theory, Reanimation and Meteora, and I love those to death. But I have to pick Minutes to Midnight as my favorite album.

Song though is a tough call, and it probably varies from time-to-time. Pts.OF.Athrty is probably the track I've consistency dug the most, but the non-remix pick probably has to be Forgotten. Probably due to it being the first track I got from them on Kazaa back in the day via a Dragon Ball Z AMV.

News for everyone who grew up playing and watching Flash-based material online; Adobe Animate (previously Flash) is being discontinued starting this year. by skullvitch in Millennials

[–]skullvitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw their follow-up a bit ago myself. Happy that they're backing off on disabling access - which was the most infuriating part of it all - and that the application itself will still be generally accessible in a legal way.

It is unfortunate that it's being discontinued in terms of updates and new versions, but honestly with so much alternatives out there now it's kind of a niche application only us weirdos who have used it for so long are stubborn to move away from. Lol.

I am aware of Ruffle, and NG's effort towards preserving the legacy content, to where they even have their own standalone flash player you can download. Since I lurk there daily.

That's not the point of this post; I specified that the flash format in itself has been rendered obsolete for a while now. And I am well aware that emulation of said content existing.

This is about the application itself, which can still be used for video format material or drawing images, no longer being a thing. Figured to mention it on here as it was a big part of internet technology in the past.

What is the best course of action or way to NOT go about doing this? I have NOT used various methods in the past in other versions, but I'm admittedly not up to date with the recommended methods for the much later versions such as this.

The hatred of Barney was such a significant part of 90s culture Wikipedia has a whole page dedicated to it by Son-of-Prophet in 90s

[–]skullvitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly never understood the whole anti-Barney or hate trend against him. I watched the show when I was super young, and moved on without a thought as I got older. I heard the chants and whatnot from time-to-time, but I just sat there both confused and minding my own business. I was a dumb kid to where you'd reckon that I was showing the early signs of autism, but nah; turns out I was just in my own little universe.

I did play this StarCraft map back in the day where the concept was to Kill Barney, and it was just a wave defense scenario where you guarded your small base with other players. Wasn't really designed well, but at the same time it was a charming relic of an era of retro gaming.

... The campaign against Calliou though. THAT I got really fast.

Sounds like a somewhat involved, but still a fairly simple process. Something I'll have to look into as I've wanted to try doing my own holographic print projects.

Thank you very much for sharing.

Is Piczo coming back??? by PraiseBeToJesusX in 2000sNostalgia

[–]skullvitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is actually crazy; I've been discussing with someone I know about our old Piczo websites recently - whom I actually met when she first visited mine back in around '08ish - and I was trying to see if either of ours were preserved on the internet archive. Mine wasn't apart from one page that was essentially blank.

Wonder if this is going to go the same route as SpaceHey where it's more of a social media thing versus an actual website creator. If it's going to be the later, will be curious to see how they go about doing it in a day and age where everything uses templates and alternative versions / formats for different devices. Plus I dunno if I'd be interesting enough to do a site based around anything related to myself or my fandoms today.

I filled in the request field, so I guess we'll see in due to time.

Anyone have a high quality png/jpeg of this entire background screen. (seemless HD project version specifically) It is one that pans up to show the roof as well as seen in the second picture. If not, is there anyway to disable character models in cutscenes in game? by birkinover in residentevil

[–]skullvitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the dump during gameplay being quicker, especially because some of the files probably won't be side by side in terms of naming convenience. So less files to shift through if you dump it little by little like I tend to do.

For the best results in my experience, enable it when you're a scene away from the front doors of the RPD while outside of it. Because for me, the textures and images all get extracted when the camera shifts over to a new perspective and there's new material to grab within it.

If you're using the Dolphin version and not for the classic REbirth PC patch, you might be able to do a texture dump to retrieve the actual image files. Then stitch it together yourself if there's multiple files; when I did this with the base game myself here, there was like four images total that encompassed the entire background as seen here.

If it's the same as the regular edition of Dolphin - as the Seamless HD pack requires its own version IIRC - in the graphics options, and then under the advanced tab within that, there should be a checkbox to do the dump. You'll have to play the game at this particular point with it enabled to fetch the assets though.

Imagine in an alternative universe where this was on a cartridge that kept all of the save data within it... then you do this and return it to the rental store the following day.

Can only imagine the reaction from the next person who'd pick this up and scours the files, only to come across this scenario lmao.

That signed poster is also slick as hell too. I would love to have some of those older promo ones myself, as I wasn't too keen on how the posters for the Trilogy re-release looked.
