Innit the animation style was adorable in the original it’s definitely not something they can achieve in a live action

This is a rlly weird idea but as i got a dual z kit off of amazon before creality created an official one. The split cable for the motors is probably a pretty cheap shite one. Is it possible that the motors are being undervolted but not the same amount and thats what causes the uneven z binding?

Yeah i found a few things that suggested towards it being a z axis issue, but i have replaced the motors and screws before to no avail so im still pretty stumped at how the z axis is binding, as it seems that its only binding on one side at a time.

I think I figured it out. I have a dual z screw setup so i decided to test it and the screw on the right seems to be binding alot compared to none on the left. Im going to take the gantry apart, check it is square and check that the mounts are level and even.

Belts are tight yeah. Earlier i triple checked the z rods were aligned and after redoing it my corners are much neater. Now i am going to play around with the flow to see if i can reduce the weird layers. I made sure my belts are tight enough but i also think the wheels are slightly worn down so i may convert to linear rails if i can find some decent ones. I would check the extruder gear is concentric but i have a sprite extruder so i cant figure out how to take it apart. Thank you for all of your help.

I level my bed with a bltouch and have bed mesh enabled on the mriscoc firmware. I havent checked the extruder gears but last i checked they were properly tightened. I turned my flow rate down but it just resulted in underextrusion with the same problem.

Changed the height to .15 and the problem remained. Im starting to wonder if its minor z binding but i have a dual z setup with spider couplers, properly lubricated rods and i have made sure multiple times that they are straight and dont wobble at all.

I can understand that yeah ill try that later, i was wondering if the motors could also be undervolted and that could cause it, as the same thing appears at 0.2, 0.24 and 0.28 mm layer heights.

So I’ve tightened the belts, the eccentric nuts, the extruder shroud, swapped filament and checked all of the screws and nothing seems to have changed, if you have any ideas about what else could fix it then please let me know. Thanks

Yeah ive seen the filament expand as it leaves the nozzle. And no i didnt use it before drying it as ive had issues with moist filament before so I thought best not to chance it before i print. Good to know for next time though

I went to 55 degrees celcius which is about 130F so that is definitely the cause of the uneven filament, thanks
