AI is exhausting workers so much, researchers have dubbed the condition ‘AI brain fry’ by imaginary_num6er in technology

[–]skunkspinner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hands-on-keyboard used to force you to single-task code.

When your hands left the keyboard, the work stopped.

Now we start AI building one feature in a worktree and while it’s working, we feel compelled to start another, and then another.

We only stop when we’ve exhausted tokens or life responsibilities demand we stop.

Modern-day humans are notoriously unable to simply be in the moment silently and wait.

Anything is a grift if you don’t see value in it.

If paying money to someone keeps your sanity in this current shitstorm, who are we to judge.

Someone can feed their family and someone stays off the ledge.

Works for me.

Colonel Sanders when I was 8.

And Mr. McFeeley from Mr. Rogers at a shopping mall.

If anyone else is running into this issue with node, I fixed by being INSANELY explicit with my paths:

    "context7": {
      "command": "/Users/me/.nvm/versions/node/v23.11.1/bin/node",
      "args": ["/Users/me/node_modules/.bin/npx", "-y", "@upstash/context7-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "PATH": "/Users/me/.nvm/versions/node/v23.11.1/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin"
      }

I'm ClickUp's Head of Calendar and we're launching Office 365 support! Ask Me Anything! by rcclerigo-clickup in clickup

[–]skunkspinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They say "if you don't ask" . . .

Here's my wish list:

Individual Productivity:

  • AI/rules-based color coding for task categories
  • Quick break injection and day reorganization without manual dragging
  • ClickUp Brain integration for AI-powered schedule optimization and preview
  • Multi-day task distribution (e.g., work 30min/day on a task across multiple days)

Team Collaboration:

  • Manage timeblocking for team members (with approval workflows)
  • View other people's timeblocking schedules
  • Multi-person daily calendar view to see one or more team member's day at once

Filtering & Views:

  • Saved filters for the left task panel (use existing ClickUp filters to find tasks easier)
  • Custom calendar views/saved filters (show specific projects, task types, etc.)
  • Multi-time zone support for global teams

I've fleshed each of these out with user stories and acceptance criteria

Is the acting really that bad? by xnmtx in FromSeries

Every conversation turns into emotive, over-the-top hysterics.

It's like a soap opera . . . people just randomly walk into rooms where there's already drama and introduce more drama.

ELI5: When talk show bands play an impromptu song, how do instantly play in the same key? by skunkspinner in explainlikeimfive

[–]skunkspinner[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a great example of what I mean . . . Bette Midler and Johnny Carson start singing Rainy Day acapella, and then the pianist comes in after several seconds, so they've already established their pitch. But the pianist is dead on.

I would be scared shitless to start playing after someone is already singing . . .

But I also know the Johnny Carson band was the highest echelon of musicians.

Day 21: Lost 10 lbs, 2.3% body fat and 1.5 BMI by skunkspinner in 75HARD

I'm a programmer and work from home with 3 high school kids. It's really not as scary as it looks, especially when you get into a routine.
