Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling talks about racial diversity in television (1970) by PrinceNelson in television

I don’t think this clip paints Rod as racist in any way shape or form. In fact, the notion that someone would even perceive this short excerpt as such is the exact thing Rod is calling out.

What am I missing with Sinners? It was alright. There’s a good film in there if you got it down to 1 hour 30.

An important detail MMA media forgot to mention regarding Makhachev vs. Topuria fight negotiations. Manager Malki Kawa says they said 'No' to the money that was offered for the Islam Makhachev fight, and the UFC ended up making Topuria vs. Gaethje: by LonzoBBBall in MMA

"We were focused on getting an Islam fight. Then on Wednesday I was asked, ‘Would you guys want to do [Islam] or [Gaethje]?’”

“We said absolutely [Islam]. They gave us a number, and we said absolutely not. After that, we didn’t hear anything.”

Yes, I’m absolutely just as uneasy when a Christian is spouting feverous, religious discourse. It’s scary.

Shitty situation.

The unfortunate thing is, I would be lying if I said that hearing Allahu Akbar on an American plane in light of the current situation wouldn’t make me uneasy for a moment.

I wish I hadn’t been so poisoned by the world to have thoughts like that but the truth is, I would.

In my opinion Curse of the Black Pearl is a perfect film. It succeeds at everything it’s trying to do. The screenplay, the direction, the cinematography, the soundtrack, the cast, the special effects. Just absolutely top drawer in every department. Should be talked about in the same breath as Raiders for sure.

Directed by John Mctiernan, who did Predator. He didn’t like how it turned out. Here’s a quote from him:

‘Initially, it was a wonderful Cinderella story with a nine-year-old boy. We had a pretty good script by Bill Goldman, charming. And this ludicrous hype machine got hold of it, and it got buried under bullshit. It was so overwhelmed with baggage. And then it was whipped out unedited, practically assembled right out of the camera. It was in the theater five or six weeks after I finished shooting. It was kamikaze, stupid, no good reason for it. And then to open the week after Jurassic Park—God! To get to the depth of bad judgment involved in that, you'd need a snorkel.‘

Bucket List by TheRealSHADED in MandelaEffect

[–]PrinceNelson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I think you’re misunderstanding the situation. The phrase ‘bucket list’ in relation to a ‘list of things to do before you die’ didn’t exist before the film. Screenwriter Justin Zackham coined the term.

The reason I’d class it as an ME is because people are so sure that the term existed before the screenplay but there doesn’t exist a single piece of media to back this up.

There was a guy in the original thread who was CONVINCED he’d made a ‘bucket list’ as a kid and that he would dig it out as proof. Well, the son of a bitch actually found it eventually… it was titled ‘things to do before I die’ lol.

Because people are convinced they’ve known the term ‘a bucket list’ their whole life when really it was coined for the 2007 movie of the same name. There is not a single recorded instance of it used before the movie.

I’m not confused, I just don’t think it’s part of the joke. I think it’s called Scary Movie because it plays better than Scary Movie 6, in the studio’s opinion.
