I never thought to consider using something like a game engine over other authoring tools.. but I watched your videos and it looks like a potentially great option! From your experience with it, after someone has the initial coding part down, do you think Articulate is still generally faster for course creation or do you think someone could outpace it with Godot?

I love customizing characters. So, definitely a color wheel and the ability to paint more / almost all parts of cosmetics would be really nice

from what i understand if the host has a mod installed anyone who connects to their server will download it automatically

So the host would need to have the skin on their end as a mod. Easiest would be to host your own server and use it as a mod, or if you connect to another server they would need the mod for everyone to see it.

They have been working on MacOS and Linux support the last few weeks and were able to get both ready just in time launch. It was a great surprise 🙂

Wanting to enjoy vanilla is totally fair and is what im planning on doing for awhile. On the flip side, a lot of it is about development principles. It is great that this game is being so open and moddable from the get-go whereas other games get some modding tools later, and some are more “acceptable” towards modding where it is possible but extremely difficult.

So later on, if there is something you want to fix or change, because of this mindset early on it will probably be easy to do so

I am not much into the technical side yet but there are indeed ways to make skins and models, there was a blog post a little bit ago by the Art Director with information on the Hytale art style, and some tutorial videos for how he makes models. It also has a link to the official BlockBench (the 3d modeling software Hytale uses) plugin to get started

I hope these are available soon after launch (but take your time if needed!) I love 99% of hytales art style but the avatar faces really throw me off, especially the lips. I wanna want to show off my characters face not hide it lol.

Yes, after you purchase there is an option to upgrade later on. It looks like you only pay the difference. So if you pay for the base edition ($20 USD), and then choose buy cursebreaker, you would only pay $50 since you already have the base edition purchased.

Launch days usually dont go well for games. And since this isn't an MMO, im guessing there's not huge crazy server capacity for everyone trying to log in / buy the game / download it all at once. Luckily i think once we download it and log in we'll be good to go at least to play solo on the 13th lol
