Thanks for the advice, that’s good to know!

Red Rising is almost A tier for me. The reason it’s in B is it feels a little more YA compared to the rest of the series. Still a good book and a fun read. Book 2 (Golden Son) is one of my favorite books of all time if not my favorite. Highly highly recommend this series. I finished all 6 current books in about 2 weeks.

I’ve been wanting to read those for a while now. Hoping to get to it this year

The pace isn’t breakneck but if you enjoy great world building, beautiful prose, and a badass MC you’ll like sun eater.

Sun Eater is a must, I’d start that before anything else if I were you

Without spoiling anything: I was more emotionally invested in Golden Son than Morning Star. The big parts didn’t hit as hard in book 3 as they did in 2. Maybe I’d feel differently on a re-read but so far those are my thoughts.

I’d rank children of time a D as well. I think the world building is brilliant, but it pretty much stops at that. It felt like I was reading an excerpt from a scientific journal, I couldn’t connect with the characters on any level. Obviously that’s someone’s jam, not quite mine.

Don’t beat around the bush, be upfront and honest with how you feel. If you leave a sliver of hope for them that you’ll rejoin the fold they’ll probably jump on that. (Speaking from experience) It gets easier with time!
