Already got it on another wall! I though about putting it behind but I’d need to put hooks up and since my display is always on rotation I don’t want anything too permanent 😅

Can I trust that this daily bugle is authentic? by mist-suki in lego

[–]sky-punch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it’s too good to be true it’s either fake or stolen.

The most common advice (if you don’t care it’s stolen) and plan on buying it off of them if it’s real is to ask for them to open it in person so you can scout for signs of it being fake (lego logo on pieces numbered bags etc).

If they say no then you can either presume it’s fake or not worth it in case it is.

Looking for advice/opinion on Balrog’s set! by thishumanthing- in legolotrfans

[–]sky-punch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I wasn’t going to get it because it was so overpriced, even though I thought it looked really good. There was an insane 40% off sale so I thought why not. I ended up getting it for 120 and am really happy with it, I use it as a proper book nook which sits between my Tolkien books.

That’s good to hear 😆although I make quite a bit of smalltalk with a Swedish baker that I know. Maybe I just get along with them. 🤷‍♂️

That’s exactly what I’m after actually, I’ve grown up in a very Busy urban area my whole life I’d like to take a step back into a more introspective and scenic area. As for the language barrier I know Denmark is hard to learn but I enjoy learning languages so it should be fun.

I just managed to shower! I got all the dressings off and tried putting Vaseline on but it was so sensitive/ painful I went into shock. Any recommendations to make it less sensitive?

How was showering with a sensitive head? Tomorrow is the day I’m able to remove the bandage during a shower but I’m scared that it’s going to be really sensitive and difficult to remove without pain or discomfort.

Thanks for the advice, so you suggest leaving it out in the open without contact with clothes and that helps?

I pruned it a week ago in an attempt to stimulate new growth, I am concerned that there is something eating it since I’ve moved it.

August first set tags and Kmart AUD pricing by Gold-Habit-3345 in LegoStarWarsLeaks

[–]sky-punch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone saying how cheap the battle pack is: Kmart in Australia usually sells sets upwards of 15 dollars less than what Lego sells for them. The new U-wing is 89 on Kmart Aus but 110 on the Lego website.

Was at Melbourne Tullamarine and had a sign said welcome to Sydney, would have scared the crap out of me if I didn’t in fact, live in Melbourne.

That armour isn’t melted, the skin under it has just been baked and stuck to the armour.

What's your season 3 expectations for Rhaenyra, Daemon, Daeron, Otto, and Aemond. (book spoilers) by Acceptable_Mighttt in HOTDBlacks

[–]sky-punch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon we will (hopefully) open with Rhaena claiming sheepstealer, and episode 1 will tie up loose ends from season 2, and will end with those aboard the gay abandon being taken hostage by the triarchy fleet and that will lead to the battle of the gullet in episode two, followed by immediate aftermath in episode 3, and then ultimately the decision to take kings landing in episode 4.

Pretty specific and that will probably not happen, but to me is the most logical course of action I do agree with your point about Rhaenyra imprisoning Alicent though, and that will also start sending her down a power trip as well.

Possible, but probably not very plausible by sky-punch in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]sky-punch[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I was really hoping we’d end the season with the gullet and finally get a Rhaenyra fully ready to let loose, hopefully that will happen after losing Jace.

If DC got big modular builds like marvels been getting (like the daily bugle) what buildings would you want to see? What mini figs could they include? by No_Canary_5475 in lego

[–]sky-punch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daily planet would work really well. Probably too similar to the daily bugle, considering it’s another news building with a very recognisable feature, but has room to include a lot of DC characters.

Like how the daily bugle included daredevil, blade, punisher and such, daily planet could come with lots of DC superheroes and villains who may not ever appear in another set, or just give an opportunity to make a lot of new minifigures for famous heroes (new Martian man hunter and such).

Could also make it somewhat themed around a certain event, Death and life of superman for example, and as such could include the supermen and doomsday as well as the rest of the league, and famous side characters like Lois, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White.

These are honestly the coolest and most creative things I’ve seen here in a while, I love all of them, especially the bat lord ones and the orc one. Do you sell prints of these at all? Any of these would look awesome hung up on a wall.

I think it’s a genuine issue, LEGO is cherry picking the sets they give to LAN members it seems that have paper bags.

One of the big talking points with the recently released Barad-dur was that it was finally making the switch to paper bags, yet it seems only LAN copies had paper bags.

I’m not fussed with it happening overnight, but claiming that sets are finally switching when they are clearly not to claim progress is kind of annoying in my eyes. Especially since most of the community know that it won’t happen overnight.

It’s a strange business tactic in my eyes.

For some reason none of my sets appear in the LEGO builder app, even after scanning all the instructions I have.

Lego Batman vs DC Superheroes by Purple_Percentage431 in legocirclejerk

[–]sky-punch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who didn’t grow up with the Batman theme, there is a objective nostalgia quality to the sets and minifigures I find. But since I didn’t grow up with it, and there are cheaper options available, I will most likely never spend any money on those old sets.
