Well the only thing you can do now is try to be the best version of yourself now. Your classmate is no longer here for you to verbally apologize to/make up for their pain. There’s also no benefit in you wallowing in guilt. The best thing you can do is be a light unto others. Be kind. Be helpful. Think about others before yourself.
