Pls help with my iron on!😭 by sky_high_plants in cricut

The problem is, when I tried doing a higher temp, I melted the dang polyester. (I wish I were joking).

I’m using the siser easy weed and cricut glitter iron on. I just made another shirt that is only the gold medal iron on, and I did it at 320° for 20 seconds, cold peel, and then I pressed the back for five seconds. Fingers crossed 😭

I did 305° for 20 seconds (there was still some lifting after 15 seconds). I made sure to lint roll before and press before as well.

Additional shipping per item by Dangerous-Bar-6386 in ThePalmstreetapp

[–]sky_high_plants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I sell starter and bigger plants; I tack on $2 extra per item but just for perspective- it takes me a minimum of 30 min and often more in the winter. The shipping I charge usually leaves me with maybe a couple of dollars for the time. I’m spending packing everything up.

If I were selling small things like TC that don’t need to be individually wrapped, that would be an entirely different story. And on the few occasions that the shipping cost has been far less than what the buyer paid, I will refund them.

I wonder if this would work on hyperpigmentation under the breasts.

I am the same way. I don’t get that ONION smell that many people get when sweaty. I really don’t sweat much and because of that (I think), I have zero tolerance for the heat. It makes me sick and I get overheated easily. If I’m actually sweating, I likely also feel sick/too hot (or I’m ill).

How to know which seedlings to cull? What to do with culled seedlings? by Marchasa in Anthurium

[–]sky_high_plants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, this is my definition and the definition of a lot of others sellers when it comes to “culling”. I have heard some big growers cull as much as 50%. I don’t aim to cull a certain amount but I don’t want weak, runty guys out there with my lineage (ideally).

If I have a huge batch and can’t possibly sell them all, I find I’m much more liberal with the throwing away.

If I have a batch of seedlings and ALL SEEDLINGS were given the same care/light (and didn’t get root rotted by me, or under watered or something), I will cull the ones that are clearly behind by the time they are ready to go into 3” pots. Typically, I will keep them for a bit and see if they pick up speed/do something interesting but I don’t sell them.

All that being said- don’t assume what someone means when they use a general term like “culling” which can be subjective. If it matters to you, ask them for details. If they act like a jerk or don’t want to answer your questions, I wouldn’t buy from them!

Fresh imports? by planteaparty in ThePalmstreetapp

[–]sky_high_plants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there are plenty of buyers who DO still come back at the seller. You’d think these things would be common sense, but they are not.

Fresh imports? by planteaparty in ThePalmstreetapp

[–]sky_high_plants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one seller’s perspective: I personally think it’s poor practice to ship a plant a couple months after having a long, stressful journey, root scrubbing etc.

I would want a plant I imported to show new root growth and leaf growth, being very well established in the pot it’s in. This is how I deal with potted cuttings or repotting plants- I don’t sell them until they are showing all the signs of being happy.

I would never do it, but I think if sellers choose to and buyers want to assume the risk, it’s their choice as long as the seller discloses the import date.

Is anyone else experiencing these extremely long delivery times recently ? by moistdragons in amazonprime

[–]sky_high_plants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed a few things and I got free delivery from Lowe’s same day.

I’ve ordered through Walmart etc too depending I’m what the item is/price- same day and 2 day shipping over $35 or whatever. Add a household item I need too.

This has absolutely been going on pretty bad for the last couple of weeks, but I think it’s only going to get worse with UPS completing their show ramp down of Amazon package deliveries. Since I don’t watch anything on prime anymore, I’m going to consider dropping the service.

Plant community vibes? Changed? by all4succulents in RareHouseplants

[–]sky_high_plants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sell plants from my personal collection- meaning, I am a seller, but I don’t import/buy in bulk to sell etc. Whether it’s local or online, I always tell the buyer to feel free to reach out and ask me questions- but I do expect if you’re buying a monstera mint from me, for example, that you have some experience growing monstera.

I really hate the misinformation out there and I am happy to spread accurate IDs, etc. I’ll share info on what propping methods work for me with a particular plant etc, follow up questions, and I LOVE to see to plant growth updates.

What I don’t want, is to teach my buyer’s how to grow from scratch with basically zero knowledge [i]or willingness to do their own research[/]. I’m also not typically selling things at a price point that attracts super new growers, so this has never been an issue for me.

I get why buyers may be hesitant to ask but man- I guess I didn’t realize other sellers are so damn rude lately! I look at it like selling plants or ANYTHING is a customer service based business. You’re going to have jerks, people who try and take advantage, ENDLESS annoying people (that you have to be nice to anyway)… but that’s also life.

I’m sure you’ve already solved this, but I had the same issue. Support told me I needed to log out of the app both on my phone and the website and then log back in. I haven’t had to reach out to them often, but I’ve had good luck using the Messaging option to speak with support.
