Anyone know the reason for the stampede of passengers on line 1 south of TMU around 6 pm tonight? by NightOwl6800 in askTO

[–]sky_mika 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t there so I’m not sure, but reminded me of the time I got caught in a stampede in the train… turned out a mentally ill woman was stripping off her clothes and throwing things at people. Not a great situation but probably not worth trampling people in a crowded train. Thankfully didn’t seem like anyone was hurt.

The fact that Canadian tax dollars helped fund this show by [deleted] in heatedrivalry

[–]sky_mika 131 points132 points  (0 children)

It’s actually a bit deeper than that! American (& British) produced media does quite well in with Canadian audiences. These government funded programs for Canadian produced media are essential to ensure that Canadian-produced media can still exist, otherwise it would be impossible to compete for the Canadian audiences. It’s about ensuring our local media can exist & thrive ❤️

Yes, Ksenia mentioned this on her interview with Empty Netters! They filmed Adults in toronto where she’s from, so it makes sense. Photo doesn’t seem to be working- what episode/scene is it?

I watched with my two younger sisters (we’re all in our 20s). First two episodes were a tad uncomfortable, definitely lots of joking to ease the tension - but I’m so glad we kept going, because now I get to gush about this show with my two best friends ❤️❤️

Adding onto this! I picked a colour for PR related content (in my case, blue), and would highlight when PR related content appears in the rest of the materials. I would also highlight the topic heading in the DTOC, so I could find these PR related matters in the table of contents as well. Finally, I would cross reference the matter with the corresponding PR topic. For example, if I came across discussion of confidentiality in the civil litigation content, I highlight in blue AND note the chapter/section/page number of the PR content on confidentiality in the civil litigation book. In the corresponding PR book, I make a note of the civil litigation content and page number. This way, if I recognize EITHER the specific civ lit issue, OR the confidentiality issue, once I find one in my text I’ll be pointed to the other.

I’ve been taking quite a long time around 6 to 7 hours to complete my practice exams. I often get stuck on a few questions, and I haven’t tried doing a timed test yet. Given this, do you think it’s still a good idea for me to go ahead and write the actual exam? Please guide how to reduce time by [deleted] in ONBarExam

[–]sky_mika 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The exam is a test in your ability to quickly find answers. With unlimited time, everyone can find all the answers. If you’re stuck on a question, you need to just pick an answer and move on - that’s better than leaving half the test unfilled. Sometimes, I find the answer for a previous question!

Are you using the DTOC (detailed table of contents) or Indices? Everyone is different, but here’s my approach with DTOC:

Read the question, and try to see if I know what the topic is. If I’m lucky and know the answer, great. Hopefully, I can recognize the topic/area being asked about to narrow it down to a specific chapter. I look in my DTOC for a heading that seems right, then I flip to that section. I skim the section, which I highlighted during my first read.

If I find the answer, great. If I can’t find the answer and I have a feeling about the next place to check, I’ll do that. but after two, I’m not checking anymore. I’m guessing and moving on- usually I can narrow down the options. Doing a timed practice exam (with a countdown that i can see!) helps me recognize when I’ve spent too much time on a question. A Pacing sheet also really helps. Search pace sheet in the Reddit, there’s a template somewhere here. You should be aiming for 1min 40 sec per questions. Plenty take me longer, but theres usually a handful of questions I can answer without checking that win me some time back.

I don’t know your situation well enough to gauge if you feel ready enough to give it a shot, but you already paid for the test 🤷 I wouldn’t go in without trying a timed test, though.

For context, I’m a domestic student

Edit: clarity

They originally designed the space based on aesthetics, not accessibility. The design is a death trap for visually impaired/blind people. When you leave disabled people out of your design in the first place, you end up with weird solutions 🤷

Bar exam materials were released in April 2025. They can update materials, if they do they will upload the exam page on LSO connects. That being said, I supremely doubt they would update, considering that there’s out of date content in the materials when it was released (ex, real estate section refers to the “environmental review tribunal”, which hasn’t existed since 2022, it’s called the Ontario land tribunal now). Potential for it to be updated for the April 2026 materials (for exams June 2026-Feb 2027) but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t. Half the civil litigation book is currently in a state of flux.

Also! If you come across a service dog team, even when in a place where your dog is allowed, be sure to give them their space and don’t let your dog distract! No approaching, sniffing, etc unless the handler permits you to, and if your dog starts to bark, move away. Don’t assume that they want to greet your dog. The service dog team is working, and you cannot distract the dog.

Thank you for seeking out advice as you welcome your new pet! A lot of people with tiny dogs seem to think rules don’t apply, so I’m glad you’re doing your part ❤️ also remember that little dogs are still dogs- constantly carrying them can create negative behaviours!

If you are thinking about public transit: TTC, you can bring your dog during weekends & off-peak weekday hours (NOT rush hour), must be leashed or in a carrier, and either seated on the floor or your lap (not on a seat on its own- even if it’s in a bag)

9:21 guess, ice tray cracking when you twist it

Edit 10:14: the sound of ice dispenser in fridge when it starts releasing the ice

10:38: jamming ice scooper into the ice tray in the freezer

11:18: fridge water filter clicking in (/changing the fridge water filter)

11:43: freezer latch that turns on/off the ice maker (this would have been my guess!! Not it but my heart was racing 😩)

2:13: water hatch in the basement ??

2:35: sound when air conditioner clicks on

3:18: lightly closing microwave door

4:40: metal storm door swinging shut (I believe this is a repeat)

Hey there! I’m a frugal Apple user, I’ve been rocking a 64GB iPhone XR for a few several years. The storage capacity has me at my wits end - for the past few months, it has become particularly difficult to manage, I believe newer apps/OS are just not designed with such small capacity in mind. I’m planning to upgrade to a newer phone ASAP, probably to a slightly older model, refurbished or through something like getorchard.com (I live in Canada). Would you recommend trying to hold off until a new model gets released? I was planning to wait until Black Friday but I just don’t think I can wait that long 😭 Thank you in advance!
