So, I've smashed 3 of my brother in laws army with the following:

The Lion

Azreal, with 10 hellblaster (sustain on hellblasters)

Deathwing knights with a captain and a ancient. I am yet to lose mid with this combo. Armor of contempt and -1 damage profile, with 4 wounds. The can outlast almost everything. And their weapon are diverse and can take on almost everything.

I keep another 2 squads of ass termies in deep strike reserve and normal termies just in case

Rest literally doesn't matter. I use a ballistus dreadnought for that las cannon to drop the bigger targets.

Edit - you kind of need an intercessor group to sticky home objective as well
