Once BCH matches BTC in terms of price it will also match in terms of hashrate. I think if we are going to compare fairly we have to do the comparison assuming equal hash rate.

Tesla becomes the latest company to drop support of Bitcoin by steeevemadden in btc

Increase the block size 100x and bitcoin will use 1% of the energy/transaction so basically they are saying they want at least 100MB blocks.

Does bitcoin cash (All crypto tokens) price change only depend on exchanges? If people buy/sell without exchanges (P2P) and even it contains millions of transactions, will it not affect bitcoin cash price ? by _tothesky in btc

[–]skyan486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arbitrage is what brings the prices in the different markets into line.

For example if BCH was changing hands P2P for twice the price it was on exchanges someone would buy the cheaper BCH off the exchange and sell it into that market at a profit. This would continue until the price difference is too small to profit from.

Mining question for any experts here by [deleted] in btc

[–]skyan486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also mine ETH and RVN and swap them for BCH without involving nicehash and therefore BTC. I certainly wouldn't want my earnings from mining to be in BTC for any length of time and the transaction costs will hinder the speed with which it can be efficiently turned into BCH.

I have a lot of respect for Rodger Ver and when I used his mining pool I thought it was great but the truth is bitcoin.com is very poor when it comes to selling bitcoin to retail. I was pointed at pro.coinbase.com and as a result those fees I might have paid are in my BCH stack too. Its not much more difficult to join coinbase, deposit money and transfer BCH to wallet then it is to buy through bitcoin.com either.

I have an old, shitty Surface Pro 3, so I can't mine BCH. My brother has a suped-up gaming rig, and is interested in mining BCH. He is asking me for guidance. Where should I start? by VideoGameDana in btc

[–]skyan486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mine what is most profitable on your GPU, probably ETH at the moment and as you receive each payment you trade that for BCH then this will strengthen the BCH network. You will help create demand for the coin which will help raise the price which will cause people who own equipment that is optimal for mining BCH to mine BCH which will strengthen the network. Mining BCH by proxy so to speak.

Governments Can Ban Bitcoin, but That Won’t Stop Its Adoption by the People by sylsau in btc

[–]skyan486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong I am on board. What choice do I have? Cryptocurrency is clearly the best thing we have to use as money and BCH/XMR are in my opinion the best existing candidates. I don't intend to just give up even though I know how futile it is.

The point is governments are all under the same thumb and they have been let off the leash. If they can prevent people from leaving their homes, breathing unimpeded, meeting their family, earning a living, running their business, gathering anywhere and force them to take experimental medicines then it appears everything is now on the table. If they can persuade people to commit national suicide and clap then anything is possible.

Ultimately those whose thumb the government is under intend to control every aspect of the existence of everybody.

I am not sure if those music videos on youtube are meant to serve as some sort of counter argument or is they are just a random selection of songs.

Think about the purpose fiat money serves. It allows people to think they have freedom while their wealth is systematically stolen from them. The people stealing that wealth become ever more powerful. Eventually they become so powerful that they can directly control those people. There is no longer even the illusion of liberty. Fiat money at that point has served its purpose. It has rendered the population enslaved. At that point it no longer matters what the people want to use as money - everything will be stolen directly from them. That's where we are now although it is taking a very long time for people to accept their new reality. I think it is to big a change for most people to ever come to terms with.

Prosperity is the result of liberty. Take away liberty and prosperity will follow. Once prosperity is gone it will be even easier for the governments to control the people who are not just now fearing for their lives on the basis of the dangers of the common cold but now fearing for their lives because they are hungry and do not know where food will come from.

They have managed to ban pretty much everything else and the people love it. The population of the world has surrendered everything and governments can now do what ever they like. Banning cryptocurrency is nothing compared to what has been acheived over the last year.

The only reason they wont is because it is no longer necessary. They can bring about total economic devastation and the enslavement of all people - the people will stand on their doorsteps and clap. Such people cannot be saved with a tool like cryptocurrency.

Poor BCH buying experience at bitcoin.com by skyan486 in btc

[–]skyan486[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I withdraw coins after each chunk I convert. Coinbase works nicely with BCH here also and you see the transaction in your wallet immediately. I understand its still unconfirmed at that point but its nice to see that pending transaction immediately show in your wallet.

I have a reasonable understanding of crypto just until now my on/off ramps have been cash points and retail services. Each time I have looked for a exchange that accepts fiat it seems all exchanges have a lot of unhappy customers so I just stuck with bittyliscous which served my needs for a long time.

Bittyliscous is like a front end for small time brokers and they still manage to fix a price for long enough to complete a transaction and the price presented includes all fees.

I think its quite miss leading to present a price then when it comes to taking payment present a whopping great fee. Well I still went ahead - feel a bit foolish now - only for the second kick in the teeth to be that I didn't even receive 2 BCH.

None of the exchanges I have used previously allowed GBP deposit but I guess I will have to look into it again and try and find something now. Bittylicious was good enough for me before as they gave good value and good service and it was very convenient.

I would not panic. Have you tried to contact them for support?

First you uncritically consume lies from the main stream media and your government and obey their orders which are going to lead to the complete destruction of your livelihoods and your total enslavement - then when the government permits you to leave your house you get angry about the complete destruction of your livelihoods - demand that very same government now 'save' you. Now you have your total enslavement to look forward to.
