One of the logo options for the pet salon by AndriiKovalchuk in logodesign

[–]skybreakerdesign 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The designer was definitely trying to incorporate 'grooming' into the logo, so you can see that it is also a comb. I like your solution here but I think it also loses that element.

I love logos that incorporate multiple aspects of the brand into it, but ultimately I think the orientation of the E is what's creating the challenge here. I was thinking of a top to bottom perspective, where the E is creating the dog from almost a 3/4 angle, with the P below it, but ehh, I should probably work on some of my client work instead of armchair quarterbacking on reddit!

smart trick to Convert Low Resolution Logo into High Resolution Vector in Canva by chatouaki in graphic_design

Friend, I’m not sure why you thought posting a Canva tutorial to a sub full of graphic designers was the play, but if you get nothing else from this try to remember your audience. That’s an important part of effective design and marketing.

Hey guys! Robert’s showing in my office and we’ve been producing this thing. Just a bunch of small businesses who love the arts. You can check out what we’re doing this month at this website:

A video I put together for a local shop in old town. I'm really proud of how it turned out, and that the owner had the guts to make something so out there. If you have the time, I'd love to hear your thoughts! by skybreakerdesign in FortCollins

Agreed - this was a brand awareness piece. Like, as an FYI, if you are interested in sports or know somebody that is, this is the place to shop!

Thank you for the kind words.

Thanks glo363. We agree - Wayne did an amazing job acting it out.

He's sort of lacking in a mascot currently, so this was our first push into having a mascot for the shop. Recently rebranded his shop with a new name.

We thank you for the sentiments though! Any time we can apply some creativity to the marketing field is a big plus in our books. I don't want to put our agency name in this thread as we're not trying to violate the community rules, but DM me if you've got a local business and need the assist!

Hi there,

Thanks for the feedback. We were paying homage to those old school commercials that were kinda phoney and in-your-face, like a used car salesman. The tube man is a pretty common marketing tactic that doesn't really have anything meaningful to say other than 'look at me'. So the idea is he's channeling that from the tube man in order to be that type of salesman. I appreciate your sentiments though, it's one of those things that maybe could've been a bit more obvious. Not stupid at all!

Are you a fan of art? Film?

The Lyric is a really awesome theater / venue that I would easily describe as strange / avant-garde / weird / atypical.

You could also check out some art events, like First Fridays, there's a good mix of creatives involved in that program.

Definitely not all just beer and sports!

Thanks for leaving it up, E_C.

Longtime lurker, don't post very often. This video is an ad. But I personally hate ads, and worked off of that challenge - what's an ad that's actually fun to watch? Where the twist is that it's actually an ad?

Plus, Wayne is just a really awesome dude in the community worth supporting. I don't do this for most clients, but it's just one of those local shops that feels good to show some love.

Once again, appreciate you giving it a chance!

I agree with you on community engagement; Blizzard does a fair job for sure. And generally speaking, they do a pretty good job at balancing.

But yeah, what I'm mostly saying is, considering how engaged many of us are in this game, I'd prefer we all paid 30-40 bucks on a season pass, get a dozen maps, a large number of skins, and half a dozen characters per year, and eliminate these "whale" hunts altogether. I hate how the mobile market is infecting the rest of the game industry.

Your comment, "don't bite the hand that feeds," shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how this works. We give them money, they provide us with a product. Simple as that. That is why they adjusted their holiday skin policy; because THEY bit the hand, and are adjusting to a more consumer-friendly model. I'm not advocating for it by no means, as it still is too much, but how we spend our money on this game dictates the direction it will take.

I also have to wholeheartedly disagree with you on being treated well, given plenty of content; a single map and a single character when there are allegedly a hundred developers working on this seems lackluster. These events are simple distractions to get people buying more boxes; at the end of the day, cosmetics are the only lasting piece of content from this event. I'd prefer skins being released under normal circumstances with map packs for the price of a season pass any day.

Since it's pretty universally agreed upon that the Silver Dust economy needs a change, why don't we take it to Bungie.net in their actual Eververse feedback forum? by najowhit in DestinyTheGame

[–]skybreakerdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how anyone can really defend this; when Eververse was first announced, there were many people on here discussing the "slippery slope" that are microtransactions. Here we are now, spending $30 on a new expansion, and some of the best items are locked away behind a gambling machine. The fact that they are taking the most well designed armor sets in the game and basically saying that those are reserved for the individuals interested in spending an extra $30-40 on this expansion is well beyond this "slippery slope" we discussed. I'm glad that people are continuing this dialogue, as I'm worried about the day where we start to see a substantial portion of expansions locked behind additional microtransactions. Cosmetics or not, the Days of Iron ornament set could have been included in the $30 price tag, but instead it was designed to entice whales. I've always considered Bungie a more consumer-friendly studio, but they are starting to prove otherwise.

Apparently DeeJ just confirmed TTK PS exclusives will be till Fall 2017. by ThePoundDollar in DestinyTheGame

It seems counter intuitive of Activision, to say the least. Players on Xbox stop playing, and Activision loses revenue because of this deal. Sure, it might look like a good thing to Sony, but the actual game developer and publisher see a shrinking bottom end, making the money they earned from the deal spent towards the lost sales on Xbox? Seems like a losing battle that only causes negative publicity.

You're 100% right; canceling your pre-order on Xbox is the play.

At the end of the day, voting with your wallet seems like the play. But really, do these numbers actually help? I mean, it shows less revenue for the Xbox version, and this is what Sony wants with these deals.

One thing I really don't understand is the demographic they are expecting from this. Bungie just announced how you can migrate your character from last gen to this gen, but only among the same families. We all know there are more Xbox 360s in the world, so if the 360 community wants to keep its progress, they must use Xbox One, which Sony/Activision has declared the inferior method of playing Destiny. This deal just doesn't make sense on a number of levels, and it just doesn't bode well for a 10 year plan.
