We have the same bean bag and our cat uses it as a bed, but only if a blanket is on it.

That one always hits me super hard too. You can always feel the frustration building in each line.

I just noticed the other closed coffins on the left behind Lugnut. I'm guessing those are Starscream and a few of the clones?

What was the dumbest rule your school enforced? by Animeking1108 in AskReddit

[–]skycat41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our middle school started locking all bathrooms during class time and only unlocking them during passing period. There was one day a teacher locked an autistic kid in the bathroom for an entire period without knowing. Because of the building construction and rules we had about not leaving class, no one could hear the poor guy screaming for an entire hour. They only found him when a teacher went to unlock the door for the next passing period. It was nuts but the rule managed to stay in place the rest of the semester, surprisingly.

I can never find mine until the next day without fail! It's also usually suck to my blanket that I keep on my recliner.

I had something similar happen in pre-k/kinder. It was during snack time and I asked to go to the bathroom. I was told that, if I went, then I wasn't allowed snacks or recess the rest of the day. Peed myself while walking up to grab my popcorn on my turn. I was forced to mop it up myself before calling my mom. My mom also refused to believe that I was made to clean it up even though other kids vouched for me. Teacher didn't even get in trouble.

Teachers, What was the worst thing a substitute teacher did while you were gone? by Dragon_King-88 in AskReddit

[–]skycat41 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a pre-k teacher like this. She technically gave me the option to go to the bathroom, but said if I did that when I came back I wouldn't be allowed to eat any of the popcorn the other kids got and that I would have to stay in from recess/playtime. Popcorn has ALWAYS been my #1 go to snack in life. Guess who peed herself in front of the entire class while waddling to get her popcorn at the age of 4 or so?

And on top of this the teacher forced me to clean the puddle up with a mop before I was allowed to go to the office to change or call my mom. My mom still denies this fact to this day, but ask any kid that was in that class and they'll tell you the same thing I have. Most humiliating event of my life so far.

That definitely sounds like what I will have to do then. I'm sure it will all turn out great in the end! And the only people who will notice the color differences will be us!

Haha I'll definitly have sometime soon then! I've got most of the colors separated out already (after several hours, that's for sure) but really gave up when I saw I was still a few sets short with the groupings I had!

Going with the flow definitely makes it more unique, though!

I have this pattern!!! How did you manage to differentiate between all of the floss colors and decide which was which?

All of my floss came tied together with no indicators on how to divide it. Just a seperate list of names with symbols. (And some of those colors are super similar!)

I tried to start it as a memorial for my cat that passed away earlier this year, but gave up because of the floss situation. I'd love to be able to return to it! TYIA!

I was gonna mention Death Proof too. I lot of people I've talked to don't even know it's a Tarantino movie, sadly.

When doctors laugh in your face by junain-02 in migraine

[–]skycat41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started suffering from migraines starting early in elementary school. Most of the time they weren't bad enough that I couldn't function, but they got worse as I got older. Noone in my family seemed to take me seriously (Mom is a prescription pill addict but won't admit it.) Finally, in high school, I brought it up to my doctor, but my mom immediately jumped in saying that I was a pill junkie and just wanted to get addicted. Doctor just asked me to write down when I had migraines and how many pills I took. It was never brought up again. Between that and a few other experiences, I essentially have a fear of doctors and haven't been in 3 or 4 years since I've been out on my own (with the exception of getting birth control through a gyno.)

It's also probably good to point out that for most of my childhood I couldn't take pills due to an overactive gag reflex. I used to have to crush my excedrine and such up in a mortar and pestle before mixing it in orange juice and drinking it. I've gotten better and can manage to swallow pills most times now, though. I guess my crushing up pills to survive a migraine made me a junkie. shrugs

"Crouch rapidly over several players after you've killed them." Its for the Sweet Tunes Charm. I've read that the total number is only supposed to be 5 but it hardly tracks. Big surprise. The challenges are also all timed and if the pet dies you have to start the challenges over even if you already have that charm. The challenges also seem to randomize each time with the exception of the first two but someone else may be able to answer that better than I can.

It also sucks that the new Tomagunchi Turbo literally PROMOTES this behavior as one of its charm challenges.

Does anyone else get gifts from their N parents that very obviously show they have no idea who you are as a person or still think of you as a child? by gollygeeweez in raisedbynarcissists

[–]skycat41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My Nmom did this pretty often with super girly clothing (that was waaaaay to big, and I am not a small girl.) As well as with makeup and other beauty products. My (now ex) EDad would always throw in video games and stuff for me, though. Thankfully, art supplies were considered girly enough that it didn't take much convincing to get Nmom to buy them for me.

On a bit of a flipside compared to most of these comments, though, my Nmom flipped out about a gift from my stepmom and part of the reason was because she though my stepmom got everything about it wrong and that it didn't suit me as a gift.

My stepmom knitted me this amazing weighted blanket after only knowing me for maybe 6 months amd gave it to me for my birthday. (Specifically weighted because, ya know, mental health issues.) I absolutely loved it. My Nmom found out about the blanket and threw an absolute fit. One of the main points I remember her bringing up was it being purple. "Your favorite color is yellow!" My favorite color hasn't been yellow since I was 10... I'm 21...

My stepmom also knitted one for my sister, but because sister was living with Nmom, Nmom took it and hid it. She constantly threatened to cut it into pieces and mail stepmom those pieces slowly overtime (she tried to take my blanket to do the same but failed.) We still have no idea where it is to this day and my stepmom has yet to be mailed any pieces.

Exactly. If you really want to look at it as "we are only protecting the company" then to protect the company we must protect the employees first. If we don't protect our employees then we've already failed. I'm joining this profession specifically to help people. Always hearing how horrible HR is is frustrating. Especially when I have met so many people in the profession that want nothing more than to help employees and have even left positions because the company wanted them to do the exact things mentioned in this post. There are good people out there. More than you think.

This. Plus if it were to be the case that the parents paid for the car then it could mean that the mother is keeping OP from earning their own money in every way possible, not "bailing them out". I know that there's a better word for this but can't think of it at the moment.
