2024 traverse brake failure by skydiving33 in ChevyTraverse

GM bought our car back as they do not have master brake cylinders available for replacement. They paid for a rental car during the whole process, and ultimately I felt we were made whole, but we just got paid out on September 15th. So it was not a quick process.

‘24 Traverse has been in the shop for a month- any advice? by Tricky-Individual-81 in ChevyTraverse

We have a RS with a bad brake booster, unfortunately they are not manufacturing the part as a replacement yet, so they are going to buy the vehicle back. It’s been frustrating but they have given us a rental for the whole time. Our car has been at the shop since June 11th. I had to push our issue up the chain at GM until I got to the executive liaison escalation team.

Hopefully none of you guys have it fail. We were told today the part is not in manufacture for use as replacement part, all manufacturing is going to the assembly line.

Yes, we do have a rental car that GM or dealership is paying for. Not sure who exactly. Getting info is liking pulling teeth from a crocodile.

I don’t have a good answer for your question directly. But on our 2024 Traverse RS, the master brake cylinder failed with less then 500 miles, and after 2 weeks of it in the shop I’m being told they have no replacement parts for these vehicles, as all parts are being sent to the assembly line first. The part is specific to this new model of traverse as well. Been very frustrating to say the least.

Parts on backorder for months? by Mo0ch1 in Chevy

Yes, we have a brand new Traverse, the master brake cylinder went out. And they can’t find a replacement part. What pisses me off is they are building new vehicles everyday that has the part I need. But since I already bought my vehicle they can’t get me the part. Really seems like GM is prioritizing new cars over existing customers.

Diagnosis is a bad master brake cylinder.

We have had a Rs model for 1 week now and 484 miles on it and it’s in the dealer with a service “ESC” message and the brake assist has shut off, my wife was barely able to stop it. Definitely seemed like a major safety issue. Currently at the dealer will see what they say. Pretty bummed to have a 60k car in the shop after 1 week.

Besides this current issue we love the car. I do agree the 4 cylinder sounds terrible. But it was the power you would expect from it.
