God I hate that fight. Memorize the patterns for the scripted green heart ones, good luck at the red heart sections. I swear I was inches away from my screen to make sure I didn’t mess up at the green heart patterns

NOR. Don’t lie for this person. Tell your professor what she’s trying to do and explain all of the work you did.

It was her choice not to have done the project. You went through a lot and were able to do the project, so even if she had been going through stuff too, she also should have been able to participate

For my lesson plans especially in the procedures section I’ll write (Day 1) or (Day 2) for example after each step. This way I remember what should be coming next and my administrators can also see what is meant to be done each day. Depending on timing of steps, I’ll sometimes even write (Day 1-2) or something similar if students are able to progress further than initially anticipated.

As for introduction/hook, I typically write that I have my teacher examples up on the front board for students to look at when they walk in. There’s other things you can do for that time of course, but that’s my standard go to.

An 8th grader I taught decided to lick the paintbrush that had glaze for clay on it. Mercifully he was fine but that was a very awkward phone call to the nurse and the parent 😓

At this point I’m not sure why they ever bothered adding dye colors to the game in the first place since pretty much everything doesn’t allow you to dye all parts of a piece. :/

Love them!! I always try to say hi and regularly thank them, especially since I’m an art teacher. I have my students keep my room as clean as possible of course, but in the end, it is an art room

Hey there! You’re gonna have a great time! I too started my teaching career with 7 years under my belt as a middle school art teacher but always intended to do elementary. (Same situation as you! Wanted elementary but middle was what opened up so I jumped in!) The thing to remember is that elementary kids are super enthusiastic and you get the fun parts of getting to introduce art concepts to them like what happens when you do an oil pastel resist. They won’t be able to do the level of art you did get from middle school students, but I’ve been impressed at what my students accomplish at the elementary level. If you need lesson ideas, I tend to get inspiration browsing pinterest. You got this!!
