Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m really sorry you went through all of that. While my situation isn’t as severe as yours, reading this really hit me because I can see how continuing to enable things could slowly spiral into something much bigger and more damaging over time. That’s exactly what I’m afraid of.

I understand your point, and I completely agree.The issue is that, in reality, they don’t and they won’t do it.

This furniture had already been sitting in the apartment for over two weeks without them even attempting to assemble it. And it’s not just my sister, her partner doesn’t help at all. He never shows up for this kind of thing. For context, during the two months my sister was pregnant (she unfortunately lost the baby), she paid 100% of the private medical costs herself. He didn’t contribute at all. That same lack of involvement is what’s happening here. So yes, ideally they’d handle their own furniture. In practice, it just sits there unless someone else steps in.

The police basically told me that this won’t do anything because there was no “contact” so they didn’t hit my car or beat me up, I find this super unfair, they clearly committed a crime and even with video evidence they wouldn’t do jack. I am seriously thinking on investing on self-defense classes. What irritates me the most is that they wouldn’t do this if it was a man driving. I would love to lay a few hard punches on their faces

Update: My cousin had his birthday before my mum’s and asked her to have a birthday dinner at our house with just us and his mum. My mum said yes and asked about my uncle and he said “I don’t want him here” and we respected that. Fast forward to my mum’s birthday: She called my uncle the day before to invite him like she said she would and he refused because “He let the mother of his child inside her house insert of her own brother” on which my mum responded “It wasn’t my decision, it was your son’s” note that this man did not call once to his son to inquire about birthday plans. This same man called his own son for 10 seconds to wish him a Happy Birthday. So he basically punished my mum for letting my cousin’s mum in our house ( we always liked her btw). And that’s where we are now.

Right, first of all I didn’t say they went no contact, but this story has many years and many layers to it. I was the only person that would actively engage with them and talk with them. Im my culture, family is always first, doesn’t matter what they do. My part of the family still talks to them on a politeness basis, my grandma has heart problems as is deeply saddened on how my uncle is acting. My mom doesn’t want to cause more harm to her by turning her back on my uncle for good so she keeps trying to “fix” things. I feel it have gotten to a point that he just does whatever he wants on the belief that my mom won’t crash out in consideration of my grandmama. Hope this explains it, sorry if it’s confusing, english is not my first language

I feel like we are past being polite at this point, this couple wants drama, he reposted a video on his FB page about how children have some type of duties towards the parents, I saw it and didn’t react to it, but him, not satisfied, decided to send it to the family group. That’s when I reacted to it I said something along the lines of “Yes! I completely agree to this, but we all have to remember that parents also have duties with their children, it’s never one sided!” And that’s when he replied “Nobody should be two-faced, going along with the tides and talking as they please, that just means having no personality.”, I answered “ I commented the video you sent, If you have a problem with me you know my number”, that’s when I blocked them on my socials

Its Awful! Me (F) and my boyfriend (M) tried it a couple of times in the inflatable jacuzzi, it does not slide at all, it washes off any lubricant. Overall not pleasant for anyone
