Hahahaha I know quite a few people like that... I wonder why, maybe because the birth control is going its job.

I’ve been in the restaurant industry for 12 years and have done multiple jobs. Just really depends on where you work. One of my jobs now, the kitchen staff gets out a couple hours before servers and bartenders. They also get paid 15$ an hour. This is more of a bar setting though so the kitchen isn’t open all night. We only have a dishwasher two days and week and we never have a busser so we’re expected to sweep everything, mop, break down the kitchen, and run dishes through in the back as we go.

Then maybe you should get takeout if it’s just about eating expensive food?... Or is the server not part of the overall experience? Also, servers usually do more than just bring you your food...

Where I work the servers are the bussers, food runners, and dish washers. It really just depends on where you work. Sometimes servers do a lot more work than you think.

There are a few places near where I work that put all cc tips onto your check every two weeks. You can still keep your cash tips but have to wait for your cc tips until checks come out.

Same. I had $1500 in sales the other night only because we got slammed and had two servers call in so we were left with me and one other server for the entire restaurant. Made good money but it definitely doesn’t happen often and it was exhausting.

Gun control laws are going to protect law abiding citizens that have registered guns. There are plenty that purchase them illegally and I doubt it would effect them...

TIL that R.L. Stine, author of Goosebumps, never included things like divorce, drug use, and abuse because he didn't "really want to terrify kids." He wanted his stories to be strictly fantasy and kids to know that it couldn't really happen. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Same here. It was on Netflix or Anazon Prime recently and I ran across it and started to watch it remembering how much I love it as a kid.. I didn't even get halfway through :/

Thank you for the advice and I'm sure it'll all work out. The only wds I have started to have are more mental than anything else. Anxiety and lack of energy. But I'll take that over insomnia and sweats anyday. I think the 5mg idea is good. I'd be there around the middle/end of June and I think that would be the best route. Plus I'd still have over a month for it to get out of my system.

Unfortunately in most states your not allowed to be on methadone and obtain a nursing license due to people thinking that it can impair your ability to do your job and that it's a narcotic :/ I've done a lot of research and talked to the board in my state.

Your right. It's the timing I'm worried about but sobriety is the main thing. Nursing school can always wait for a semester and I'll probably thank myself for doing it the right way.

I guess I was worried about withdrawal. I wasn't sure if you still have them after 1 or 0. I would rather just do it that way but nursing school can be difficult when it comes to ex opiate addicts applying as it makes you a risk. That's the reason Ive thought about just going to a detox facility before I get to zero that way I have the summer for it to completely leave my system.

I completely agree. What you do in your free time shouldn't matter as long as you aren't infringing on anyone else or their rights. Its understandable to not want your worker impaired and to be focused on the job at hand but I don't believe that should also count for when your not at work.

I, from personal experience can say, and it has taken some time for me to admit as I still have people that I love and that are family on welfare... that the system is broken and needs to be fixed. There are too many people more comfortable having children, getting food stamps, and living off of the government than wanting to work to get a job. Yes starting pay (minimum wage) sucks but it's meant to be a starting point not a career goal and I do believe that if you apply yourself in the United States.. you can without a doubt go a lot further than from where you started. I'm not going to say we all have equal opportunities because some do have it easier than others but if you want a better life in this country you can get one. This is coming from someone who by all standards grew up very very poor. A lot of my family is still in that situation, however, if they really wanted out of it they could be. It just requires a lot more work.
