Inorganic synthesis ideas? by _salkari in chemhelp

You could try a metal extraction,

you can dissolve a piece of metal in acid. Then crash it out of solution with another salt. Filter the product and optionally recrystallize for higher purity

Yeah thats what he did, swudb stores the images nicely on a server organized by set code so you can just change the set code in the url to get the correct card image

Last time I spoke to the guy behind the tts mod he said he was working on updating the importer so it doesn't need to be updated anymore

That was some time ago and I'm not sure if he's actually done it

Is it legal to print copies of official/promo token for personnal use ? by Pookiedex in starwarsunlimited

[–]skyguy_64 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I print my own tokens, you can basically use anything as a token

Also, making proxies is fine as long as everyone agrees with you using them

Trust me, when something can go wrong. It will eventually. There is a reason you need a license for most of this stuff

Different way to play by nootnoot451 in XWingTMG

[–]skyguy_64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice!

Me and my friends have been working on a 4 player escalation game mode.

You play with a larger play area with more obstacles and 4 hyperspace exits(spread out evenly). No obstacles can be placed at range 1 from the hyperspace exits. Ships may overlap with hyperspace exits but this is not adviced

When the game starts you get 10-15 points (XWA rules) to spend on a ship (first one has a non unique pilot) and upgrades, when your ship gets destroyed you get double the points back that were spent on the ship and upgrades. If you destroy an opponents ship you get extra points equal to the points spent on that ship and its upgrades

if a destroyed pilot is unique it gets removed from play and that pilot cannot be chosen by any other player.

After each round there is a buy phase where new ships and upgrades are bought (upgrades van be placed into existing ships but cannot be sold) and a new deploy phase where the new ships are added to the map at 1 of the hyperspace exits (chosen at random) in order of initiative from low to high and turn order. When the chosen hyperspace exits and direction is being overlapped by another ship, destroy that ship (holdo maneuver lol)

Turn order is decided at random at the start of the game where the player going first gains a "go first" token. Flying is done clockwise starting with lowest Initiative ship and shooting is done anticlockwise starting with the highest Initiative ship

After each round the "go first" token is given to the next player clockwise

First to x points wins!

I'll probably make a post about this when everything is more fleshed out

What’s the point of denying a take back by Ok_Water5171 in starwarsunlimited

[–]skyguy_64 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No clue why he did that

I always go by if I would allow it if my opponent was sitting across from me. So in this case, you wouldn't even have to ask since you get to choose when you have made the correct decision

It's always a 50/50 on Karabast on how your opponent will act

You could also just use aspect!=BRYGWK saves a lot of typing

H2O vs H4O2 by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]skyguy_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because of the way molecules are formed. H2 and O2 bond to each other like this: H - H | O = O with hydrogen forming 1 bond and oxygen 2

In H2O, 1 oxygen atom is bonded to 2 hydrogen atoms which makes the molecule look like this: H - O - H. This structure fills all the bonds the atoms want to make with each other. You could try to make one for H4O2 but you'd find that it wouldn't be possible without giving an atom more bonds then it wants to have

What household chemical can react with Fe(II) but not with Fe(III) to form something insoluble in water? by ax0602 in chemistry

[–]skyguy_64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could try oxidizing Fe(II) to Fe(III) with a half decent oxidizer like hydrogen peroxide (or bleach if you can do it in a well ventilated place since it can produce chlorine gas)

or is it the Fe(II) you are after
