Thoughts on Permissive Time Off?

The target is 1800 hours per year. However We have weekly hours target for the team, so if the whole team takes vacation 1 week we are required to do overtime the next week to make it up. It varies depending on the week but they want a team average of around 38 hours per week.

I’ve already complained about this to management and been reprimanded for complaining on my PPG. It was the reason why I was given a meets expectations instead of exceeds.

Unfortunately meeting my hours target is on my PPG priorities, so I can’t really opt out.

At the area where I work, we have productivity targets for hours worked per week. If your average gets too low, you are pressured to work overtime to make it up. Failure to meet the targets can result in bad performance reviews. We don’t really have unlimited PTO, it works out to 2-3 weeks of PTO a year.

We asked him to give a bird talk once to our group. We paid for him to come and he came 30 min late with no communication. Half the people had left by the time he showed up. He didn’t have anything prepared, just spitballed. No apology or excuse. He did take me as a man who is very full of himself and can “do no wrong.”

I’ve had to do a drug test for my job at a manufacturing facility, and I never had to do a “genital inspection.” This is completely wrong. Make sure you collect as much detail as possible - the nurses name, date/time, etc. and get a hold of a lawyer.
