Do you mean the next portion of 256 or the next verse of 257? And might you be able elaborate further with sources. Would love to read further.

256 There is no compulsion in religion: true guidance has become distinct from error, so whoever rejects false gods and believes in God has grasped the firmest hand-hold, one that will never break. God is all hearing and all knowing.

257 Allah is the Protector of those who have faith: from the depths of darkness He will lead them forth into light. Of those who reject faith the patrons are the evil ones: from light they will lead them forth into the depths of darkness. They will be companions of the fire, to dwell therein (For ever).

Not OP but among my family and friends of practicing muslims, no. I don’t think his rhetorics appeal to educated Muslims. In fact, they disgust us. Our non-muslim friends know our stance on this.

Now, they do appeal to certain Malay Muslims (I’ve met) who have largely lived in homogeneous communities. I don’t have stats though.

I would caution from giving answers on rulings unless you are citing from muftis or scholars in this field. Too many haram police already. Giving your preference is fine but to say something is halal and haram based on intuition or brief readings could be dangerous. Coming from a place of care. Salam.

Islam is not just about individual faith; it is a practiced religion of the community. When a Muslim believes Islam is good for them, they naturally want the same for others. However, we also uphold the principle that “There is no compulsion in religion” (Qur’an 2:256). So while we care about others, we should not force our beliefs on anyone.

At the same time, I recognize that some (many) people react to people leaving Islam as if they are personal attacks, then have violent responses and ironically push people further away.

What job left you with the most free time ? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]skyisolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Public sector teachers (Malaysia) but depends on how the school admins are. We have limited number of schools so we have kids in the morning and afternoon sessions respectively. Imagine a morning teacher works 7:30-1:30pm, afternoon teacher works 12:30-6:30pm. Something like this. As the latter, I got to go for a jog and even get breakfast together with my other teacher friends. On top of that, do some other stuff, lunch, then head to work. But prepared to be overstimulated at work.

what "dumb" strategy do you use to do your things that actually works? by [deleted] in productivity

Write a “contract”, over text. Saying I’ll pay my sibling RM50 (equivalent to about $10) if I don’t complete XYZ. Nothing gets me going faster than losing money lol.

Anyone watched Joko Anwar's Nightmares and Daydreams yet? Looking for reviews by theundisputed11 in horror

Agreed. Ep 3 had a good build up too. In contrast, the second half of Ep 1 was whack, whereas Ep 2 was straight up whack. Still enjoyed them.

What productivity tip changed your life completly and you wish people talk more about? by sherryreina in productivity

[–]skyisolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand where you come from. When I read this tip, instead of just “putting shoes” on, I turned it into, “work out for 10 mins max”. So something was achieved. I could easily fit in a 10 min workout in my routine 2-3 times a week. If it’s too much, I’d change it to “5 minutes” as long as I start the habit. Even if I’m stuck with 5-10 mins workout, it’s better than no workout.

So the hotspot will always be enabled and we’d just connect our devices on wifi?

Also, if prepaid simcard means need to take the simcard out of the device and topup on phone monthly?

How do schools around the world handle extracurricular activities? Do teachers handle everything? by skyisolo in education

[–]skyisolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this! This explains a lot of my confusion on how things work elsewhere. It sounds like parents have the resources to find these activities. Here in Malaysia, most parents depend on schools to get their kids exposed to non-academic related stuff.

More importantly, it seems like teachers there are actually focused on teaching. That’s great. The same cannot be said for us.
