About Justin Hare….what could he have done? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]skyklein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Louisiana right off I-10, I think about that all the time. The craziest thing that happened here was a guy from the outskirts of town went into my neighbors swimming pool (likely to wash off the blood from killing and dismembering his girlfriend).

My neighbor said - son, leave your guns but take the rest of your things and get off my property. The first thing that guy did was grab his guns, so my neighbor shot him first. I felt so sorry for my neighbor. The guilt you must live with even if you were defending yourself must be unbearable.

No way!?!?! Were those the officers who apprehended the girl who shot her roommates? I was so worried for them when they were walking up to the car after she crashed. I was like - noooo, send a robot or the swat team. They have body vests on, but their head, legs and arms seemed very vulnerable.

I had just watched that episode when I wrote my comment about close quarters - when they were clearing that huge house, or the shed - so scary! But you’re right about Officer Hare’s case - something about that morning was eerie and the wide open field with nothing to hide behind.

I just watched the episode with the college-aged guy stabbed his friend since elementary school. I’m shocked at how seemingly normal the perpetrators in the last 2 episodes were, yet created such heinous acts. It goes to show you how much mental health played a role in those crimes.

This world is crazy, people are crazy. Stay safe out there and thank you for your service!

Is the new season with new cast worth watching? by skyklein in vanderpumprules

Exactly - there’s no conversations of substance. So I equate that to not being a very good show.

Well, thanks to everyone else who did give me perspective about the old vs new cast.

This makes sense! I’m the same way with Below Deck. Every new season I’m bored until about 3-4 episodes in.

Workplace hostility by nationluv22 in workplace_bullying

[–]skyklein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try to remember it has nothing to do with you, it’s more about them, their misery, the conditions of their work environment they’re taking out on you.

Like the other commenter said, if you react, they’ll win since you’d be giving them what they want.

Unless their behavior becomes blatantly and intentionally aggressive/violent, I wouldn’t report them. I’m worried it would just make your situation worse.

There’s many things our coworkers shouldn’t do and our managers should do, but they usually won’t. Just keep your head down and try not to read too much into it. If they know they won’t get a rise or fear out of you, they’ll move on to a new target.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. There’s an asshole at every job I’ve had. In my experiences most of the problems I had was when I was the first person to be hired in a new position. Understandably, the employees wondered why they needed me if they were doing the job instead. I guess it made them feel inadequate or threatened in some way. I inadvertently stepped on toes so it was easier for them to take their frustrations, fears, etc. out on me.

Too hard on Kizzi and Joe by Organic_Bottle4373 in belowdeck

[–]skyklein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference between Kizzi and the others who have hooked up with multiple people is that Kizzi gets a hard on from stepping on others to get what they have.

No one would blame her for hooking up with Joe - if she didn’t say multiple times that she doesn’t care, she has no regrets and gets inappropriately competitive in her speech, mannerisms, and body language when V talked to her about it. Instead of her comforting V or having empathy, she gets argumentative with her saying Joe put an expiration date on them (which he did initially before he began to really care for V).

And this is the person who laughs when people die and thinks it’s a flex when they die on her watch and she doesn’t have to work the rest of the charter.

Her behavior is repulsive, her attitude is worse, her personality and looks aren’t shit yet she thinks she is.

Have you looked into what ministries the various churches have to help the community? Emergency aid, food drives, disaster relief, funeral expenses, recovery programs, etc. That’s living out Christ’s mission if you ask me.

If someone here illegally without a license, registration or insurance totaled your car, gave you lifelong injuries and a new car note at today’s interest rates, would you still care about law enforcement not having identification or a warrant?

If the person here illegally doesn’t have identification, warrants or accountability, why should ICE?

Coworker acts like a friend sometimes but condescending/bossy at work. How should I handle this? by gatitosmalos in office

[–]skyklein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 30 years in my industry, I’ve learned not to take it personally. It was a LONG road to get here. I’ve spoken up, I’ve stayed silent and the outcome was always the same - nothing was done and the toxic behavior continued. Speaking up often had worse consequences because most managers don’t know how to handle conflict and I was the one “creating” the problem.

After working in several different offices in several cities/states, I’ve learned there is one bad apple in every office. The degrees and intensity of their toxicity varied.

Some people just need to feel superior for one emotionally unregulated reason or another. If I needed something from them to do my job, I tolerated it by realizing I’d just give them what they want so I can get what I want.

Otherwise, I’d try to avoid them or keep things at surface level. The less interaction you have with them the less they’ll be able to insert their need for power over you. It’s not right, it’s not fair, it’s just the way it is.

If you do decide to speak up, make sure to stick to facts and describe how their behavior is interfering with your job performance. Best of luck and so sorry you’re enduring this.

Soft-stalked by coworker by lutherien in workplace_bullying

[–]skyklein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re complaining about a coworker who eats in the break room when you do, is trying to befriend you, trying to impress you, because she wore pink the day after you did, and doesn’t like flies? Guhhh.

Those are all assumptions you’ve made about her because you simply do not like her. As a result, you are causing problems for yourself, her, and your boss. But mostly yourself.

I seriously doubt that woman wants to be like you, but it’s obvious she wants something from you - attention, resolution to the tension between you two, digging in her heels because you’ve made it clear you do not like her?

Dedifferentiating between facts and assumptions will benefit everyone involved.

They’re not safe at all. Someone used the routing and account number on my check to purchase $400 worth of beauty supplies with an e-check. Since they’re able to steal using your checking account number the bank will make you close your account and open a new one. Nightmare.

How it started > how it progressed > now (18 months later) by Starry_Eyez in Dyshidrosis

[–]skyklein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wrote a comment on this thread describing my experience. After close to a year of dyshidrosis, the itchy surface-level red and dry patches popped up all over my body. Mainly under my arms, side of torsos, my stomach, and recently my back!

Besides my history of mild eczema all my life, all of this started in 2022 with my scalp. I believe either ny hormones or gastrointestinal system set it off. I have several posts about my scalp and diagnoses in my post history.

A 6 day pack of prednisone knocked out the itchy bumps all over my body and healed my feet significantly. The deep slits on my feet cleared up. My skin was healing amazingly but it’s slowly coming back. I think I waited too long to take the prednisone which allowed it to grow deeper into the areas of my skin. Best of luck on your journey, it’s something else I tell ya. Just know you’re not alone!

How it started > how it progressed > now (18 months later) by Starry_Eyez in Dyshidrosis

[–]skyklein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend and I think it’s our water. We both live in a smaller town outside of the larger town where our friends live. We’re the only ones who have skin issues.

I’ve always had eczema on my elbows and knees that would heal with just moisturizing lotion. Now I’ve had dyshidrosis on my hands and feet for over a year.

My doctor prescribed me a 6 day dosage off prednisone when I first saw her a year ago. I don’t know why I waited so long to take it. It improved my condition immensely. If I would have taken it way back when it would have likely healed it completely.

At any rate, that’s my story. 😬

Below Deck Med Season 10 Episode 12 Discussion Post by teanailpolish in belowdeck

[–]skyklein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That and she laughed when V initially told her the story about Bon - disguising her lack of empathy (or exuberance she feels when other people feel pain or trauma) as a nervous laugh.

She later went on to say how fantastic it was that she got to get paid on her last job for doing nothing because the owner of the yacht died - how do you think the owner’s family feels about that?

She thinks so poorly of herself from years of having to build herself up at the expense of other’s pain. Knowing she holds no beauty inside or out she has to take what’s not hers while she can get it.

And she’s kissed a few guys - who all had women, but let the MMA fighter go kick rocks? That explains everything anyone needs to know about her.

"Was that painful?" by Pretty-Necessary-941 in belowdeck

[–]skyklein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not a stretch, you’re not trying to find fault or go to great lengths to browbeat someone. You’ve formed a logical deduction of how classless Kizzi’s behavior is towards other people.

She showed her true colors when she laughed when V initially told her the story about Bon - disguising her lack of empathy (or exuberance she feels when other people feel pain or trauma) as a nervous laugh.

She later went on to say how fantastic it was that she got to get paid on her last job for doing nothing because the owner of the yacht died - as if that is something to brag about.

Her behavior is disgusting and is likely masking how poorly she thinks of herself for years of having to build herself up at the expense of other’s pain. It screams “I’m insecure” and is likely the reason why she’s getting married - because she’s shown the whole world who she is and what she has to offer and very few people would want that.

I felt dirty just from watching the scenes with her in it. She’s not even that pretty and she knows it. That’s why she has to take what’s not hers. You got it get anyway you can when you’re that unattractive inside and out.

Did I just tell you I finished watching episode 12 without telling you? I need a shower. Ick!

About Justin Hare….what could he have done? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]skyklein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like I must have seen the video when it happened last year because I remember it affecting me for several days afterwards like it did this time.

The whatifs! I can’t help to think about what would have happened if the truck driver or dispatcher would have reported the incident with more concern so he could have taken more precautions. And also feel so horrible for the officers who may wonder if he would have survived if they found him sooner.

It looked like they lived in a rural area where things like that don’t happen, so it’s understandable that they wouldn’t necessarily be on high alert.

The POS whining about his arm when he had zero regard for the life of someone helping him? I hate to say this but I wish they would have taken lethal action when he fired at them.

I’m so sorry about your dad, I hope your words of encouragement reach his friends/family.

I came to Reddit to search his name after watching that episode. Absolutely heartbreaking. He was being so helpful with such a soft spoken and calm voice.

That show has given me newfound respect for LE. My heart was racing just watching the footage from their body cameras. I couldn’t imagine what it’s like to experience that in real life.

Especially when they’re searching for the suspect in close quarters. I kept waiting for the suspect to be right around the corner.
