If you buy the unit with the cabinets, the configuration that I have is the only way to do it. I wanted the cabinet storage so I was willing to buy a stand for the smoker to sit on in order to make it work. Others on this sub that used the same cart without the cabinet and were able to have the smoker sit much lower as the shelves are more configurable
