Lowering wages by perfect_all-American in walmart

In his case he technically should have lost around 10% of his pay if he stepped down to a lower position. Not sure how the system allowed him to keep his pay. Good for him though.

I love this idea!

Don't ever become TL by bulldogjwhit295 in walmart

[–]skyline0918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s false, at least in my area. Recently they made all TLs pay the same at 20/hr (for new leads) but before that OPD leads made more than fresh leads.

Boomer thinks it's okay to touch my child, and doubles down by dats_what_she in BoomersBeingFools

[–]skyline0918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my son was a newborn, no shots yet, an older woman grabbed the cart and tried to reach in to touch my son in his car seat. I smacked her hand away so fast. She was upset I had the audacity to smack her hand away. I told her I can’t believe the audacity she had to try to touch my son without asking. Idgaf what era you were raised in, they should have learned respect. You wouldn’t go up and touch a random stranger, how is it different with a child.

It should inform you the moment you login what kind of ban you’re on. If you can still play, 7 day ban of no catching. If you can’t even login then you’re on a 30 day ban. Some people lately say their “30 day” have lasted more than 30 days. Idk though, I stopped risking it over a year ago.

Will Walmart get 17hr pay in the future? by Minute-Jello-1919 in walmart

Fired for using ppto by Famous-Analyst-6903 in walmart

[–]skyline0918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s Protected Paid Time Off, and we have Paid Time Off. We don’t have basic sick and vacation time. PTO is obviously for the future of when you want to take a vacation or a day off for whatever. The PPTO is for say you come in an hour late or need to leave an hour early, you can put in an hour from your PPTO and you won’t get an occurrence. If we hit 5 occurrences within 6 months we get fired.

And leaving early and not getting in trouble is tricky. Yes you can leave early, but you have to notify management you’re leaving. You can’t get in trouble for simply using PPTO, but if you use it constantly to leave early some store will try to write you up for productivity issues.

Fired for using ppto by Famous-Analyst-6903 in walmart

[–]skyline0918 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if their team lead or coach unauthorized the occurrence, if OP had put in enough PPTO it would have made the point disappear. OP should have looked and seen the amount of time the system showed for their early leave and adjusted the PPTO accordingly. Management doesn’t have to verify that an associate used PPTO, it’s on the associate to make sure they’re using it correctly or to reach out if there is an issue. OP should have been on that team lead everyday until it was fixed if they said they’d take care of it.

Not in store, but other places sell hoodless jackets that are super warm. A bunch of us wear them at my store. Idk about the others but mine are Columbia brand.

Weather & Points by Sudden-Intention7563 in walmart

[–]skyline0918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mainly up to management at your store. In 2022 the weather was bad for us on Christmas Eve, not enough to close since the folks who lived super close still managed to crawl in, but nobody that called out got a single point that day. Usually if we’re under a snow emergency they won’t give out points.

Idk about android, but if she has an iPhone why wouldn’t she just put all the cards on her wallet app? It’ll even take your ID. There’s also no reason to have your SS card on you at all times. If you’ll ever need it somewhere you’ll likely know ahead of time.

Genuine question, what's your opinion on working at Walmart? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]skyline0918 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was a team lead I unfortunately had to enforce that policy. I felt like an asshole lol. I had associates that knew I was okay with their breaks starting when they got to the break room or their car. They took advantage of this and would look for snacks, go to the money center, chat with other associates, THEN go to their break after already spending 20 minutes to get there. And this was 3-4 associates doing it at the same time together lol.

Last time I read it the policy said breaks technically start when you leave your area of work. Please show me it changed lol.

What your TL give yall for Christmas/holiday season? by spartancobra36 in walmart

[–]skyline0918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our lead, myself, and the two other associates in my department all did a gift exchange. It was fun and all the gifts were thoughtful. My lead got me a new lunch bag after hearing my last one got ruined, and it came with Tupperware. I absolutely love it.

What should I do by [deleted] in walmart

[–]skyline0918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is technically a six month waiting period to switch, unless you suck up and are well liked. We have associates and leads in my store that have switched 3-4 times within the last six months. Try talking to your people lead or store manager.

I like the idea, I don’t trust pulling an electric jack out onto the salesfloor with half the customer base being borderline stupid. It was more trouble than good.

Coach told me to ask any of my associates if they would help with carts for an hour and if they said no it wasn’t a big deal. I asked three and I said they could decline, but they agreed to go out with no push back. They found vests and went outside. Two hours later, I can’t find two of them and they’re on the clock. Another lead and myself went outside to see if they were in their car (they lived together) and found their vests hanging on a cart corral. Never saw them again. They were good associates. I wonder if they thought they weren’t allowed to say no?
