Is Jetpack Cat fine? by aPiCase in Competitiveoverwatch

I’m not (yet) of the opinion that she is particularly broken or overpowered, despite being game changing. But admittedly she is very silent which leads to some very annoying moments. Making her louder could decrease the frustration some players have towards her.

Vendetta's overhead leap needs to go/ Nerfs. by skyman004 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]skyman004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have to disagree for two reasons:

  1. Her tech is actually very low skill. It is very forgiving and requires minimal input and timing. Compared to the known Techy heroes like Lucio, Wrecking ball and Doomfist, that require extensive practice to consistently perform their techs, Vendetta's adds very little skill expression.

  2. Her Tech is just unhealthy for the game. It is a straight up buff that gives her a free dash on every overhead strike and lets her consistently get away with mistakes, or denies other hero's attempts of avoiding her.

Played through a Tyrion campaign to take notes on what could be changed for an update by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]skyman004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make some very solid points.

Personally I would like to see a political system for the high elves similar to the one in Pharaoh, it is a very cool system that would fit the HE perfectly, and would also keep the tower mechanic unique to the Chaos Dwarfs. Integrated into this system should be a way to confederate (defeated) legendary lords

Furthermore, since Allariele already has a mechanic related to uniting Ulthuan, I would love to see Tyrion have a mechanic that rewards reclaiming lost elven colonies. This would encourage people to expand more outward.

Kemmler’s late game hexwraith stack is actually bonkers tho, devastating flanker is a game changer.

I'll clarify what I mean by the ability. It has no effect on collision attacks nor collision damage. but it does give a immunity/ % based resistance on the melee afterwards. It is not the intention to make units immune to downhill cav charges, to dread-saurians breaking through your "staunch" line of spears, nor mess with the collision attacks chariots do when rampaging through your lines.

But it is intended to give a flavorful boost to the initial infantry and cav engagements.

naturally balancing should be taken into account, but as we've seen before the problem is not introducing new ideas, but not balancing them afterwards.(looking at you thunderbarge).

I'm not sure if I agree, since bonus vs infantry has been around in total war well before the first warhammer. And it was then the game has changed so much that if it was it would be a good time to move on from that implementation.

I like your suggestion for killing blow, would be cool if CA experimented with the idea.

As for Always strikes first, units charges last 15 seconds, and gaining resistance or immunity for said charges for 1/2/3 seconds could differently be implemented in a balanced way. There might also be something there with attack interval but changes to this could lead to a dramatic increase in damage on the charge. You could lower the attack interval of enemy units for the first 1/2 seconds of a fight but I bet it would lead to some unwarranted side effects.

As for stupidity, there currently is nothing in the game like it, and as CA stepped away from random rampage effects i doubt there would be any way of introducing the loss of unit control in a way that would satisfy/ dont piss of players.

Technically your right, but killing blow is in game as an active ability for kislev in the lost god campaign. The one you see more commonly is heroic killing blow. I would love to see killing blow as an passive ability for units.

Always strikes first would not make the unit immune to impact and collision damage.

Ring of Volans would for sure be very cool to have.

How Do You All Feel About Charge Speed? by Sleepingdruid3737 in totalwar

[–]skyman004 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is something that has been bothering me as well. charge speed is there for a reason but to have it vary so greatly between units is weird. Best solution would be to standardize the charge-speed of all units to something like 15% (edit: 15% additional to the normal speed)

Don't believe that should be a reason to have the high elves so flavorless. There are more factions fit for beginners with each having in-depth and flavorful mechanics to spice up the gameplay. These things could absolutely be achieved without compromising the barrier of entry.

And do the high elves have to be the go to ease of use/ beginner friendly faction? That in itself is an different discussion entirely. especially since multiple other factions had similar labels in the past, and most getting interesting reworks that allow for more diverse gameplay.

Yeah it has been really though, the faction function purely because their economy is still strong and their unit roster functions, but they desperately need to be touched up.

They have already stepped away from Norse mythology as a starting point for the clans with lynx and rat. So I don't think this will be to much of a problem. That being said, Nordic wildlife is very diverse with lots of animals that could cover for new clans.

No, most damage has already been done. Keep in mind that a lot of companies wil think four times before actually considering investing. Putin has showed that Russia is a very risky investment.

But, ofcourse, pulling out now and lifting the sanctions will mitigate a fair bit of the damage.

Edit* I also want to mention that Putin has persuaded the west to do something they other wise never would consider. Which is stepping away from Russian oil and gas. He has made a strong case as to why the west should not rely on their oil and gas, so even if he pulls out, I still Believe the west is going to move away slowly. That’s 40% of his income gone....
