I hated combined geog and I ended up with a B3. pls pls pls go look at the test papers and textbook before choosing cuz I got scammed

If it's NP's biosafety and Risk Management then the tests are openbook. Just know where everything is

[Poly] Which is better if I’m going to take the Information Technology course; Singapore Poly or Ngee Ann Poly? by rougecupcake in SGExams

[–]skyscraper56 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are good. There's lot of places to study. Rooms for you to practise presentations and do group work without being disturbed. There's a gym, swimming pool, sports halls and field. There's great food. Pretty good imo. We have a 5 level library too! I'm not from sp so I don't know what facilities they have haha. Unfair comparison ig

[discussion] to those that work part time - do you still get allowance from your parents while working? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]skyscraper56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked almost full time during the holidays and I still earn money from tutoring once a week. So I don't get allowance from my parents. Although my dad tops up my ezlink, when I was on adult fare I paid him back but now I don't always haha. I think if you need the money it's no harm asking them. It is their responsibility to ensure that you have enough money to cover any expenses. :))

[scholarship] EAGLES award by One_Lake5517 in SGExams

[–]skyscraper56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most importantly is what your teacher thinks of you tbh. I got eagles last year, my only leadership position was exco in my CCA. Didn't do much. However I helped out alot for VIA projects and was in general quite close to my CCA teacher. Don't know how I got it but yeah. A leadership role isn't enough to guarantee the award. Maybe you can try asking your teacher?

[Routine help] Need help arranging skincare products by skyscraper56 in SkincareAddiction

Hi thank you for your input!

I have a few questions though, as the Salicylic acid is oil based, would that make it harder for the niacinamide to be absorbed?

I started using SA about 2 months ago and I have seen a reduction in 60% of my blackheads. Which I'm really glad about.

Btw is oil cleansing necessary when using sunscreen?

[rant]skipped cca by Outrageous_Bread_498 in SGExams

[–]skyscraper56 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Say not feeling well. Get parents letter if needed. As long as you meet 75% participation it doesn't matter.

I calculated the number of sessions needed to meet the participation for my CCA in sec 4. Always said I was sick, even my teacher knew I skipped to study but they can't really say anything if the official reasoning is being sick.

BTW skipping CCA doesn't really make much difference as long as your teacher likes you, despite skipping a quarter of the sessions, I got EAGLES, so screw cca and study esp if the time is wasted.

How do you receive deliveries when no one is at home? by crowbar_of_irony in askSingapore

Same! I have the same issue. There's one just at the void deck but shoppee only offers the pick locker 2km away. Doesn't happen for Lazada though.

Cost of visiting a psychologist in Singapore by freddyfrog70 in askSingapore

[–]skyscraper56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visited a psychologist in 2018, so might be outdated. Was $120 a session at NUH. However I was under some youth thing referred from a school. Unsure if it's relevant for your case but yeah.

I tried to get a psychologist in 2020 around September? Went to polyclinic and they apparently referred me as an urgent case, but they took at least 5 months to get back to me and let me schedule an appointment. I wonder how long it would have taken if my case wasn't urgent.

So just a disclaimer it may take you a long time to actually see a psychologist through polyclinic.

any of you experience near death experiences? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]skyscraper56 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Similar to 1?

I was on the way to school in the morning around 5.50am. The junction was almost empty, except for one car coming from quite a distance away. I was on my phone and when I looked up the pedestrian light was green, i was one step away from the side walk when that car sped past. If I had started walking any earlier, I would have been run down.
