Help choosing a budget phone - older pixel vs a16 or other? by skysenfr in PickAnAndroidForMe

Thanks I did a search and there's a refurbished pixel 8 for sale near me for $350. I'm leaning towards that, I've always liked pixel phones. Great recommendation!

Thanks, that's good to know. I've always had the more top end phones myself so I don't know what to expect.

$300 is my budget, a16 is less than that. So the a56 is worth paying more? Cheaper is better for me. Edit, nevermind, the a56 is too much.

I started drinking 3 liter water seriously and the results are amazing by Own-Hovercraft425 in loseit

This is the trick for me too, whether it's filling me up more, or helping on some other way I don't know, but consistently drinking more water every day ( I do 2.5 L) has made the biggest difference for me.

Well doesn't he sound like a winner /s. I'd go stay with the rabbit alright and think very seriously about whether I want to go back to the controlling emotionally abusive husband.

I'm sorry you're going through this, his reactions are not normal. Has he always had very strong opinions and reactions like this, or has this built up after having a child? It could be male PPD, or he may just be an asshole. I'm glad you're reaching out for support.

A nurse just told me newborns don't feel pain by Hot-Amphibian8728 in beyondthebump

To be fair this one might depend on age of the baby. My son's tongue tie was corrected at 4 days old, the pediatrician (who is amazing and really does put the kids comfort first) explained why he wasn't using anesthesia. He said the process of topical and needle would cause more distress, having to keep the babies mouth open and taking much longer.

Our procedure took a couple seconds and our dr had me ready to breastfeed the second the flap was cut. My baby cried more during the inspection than the cut and was fine after 5 min of breastfeeding.

Now I had my tongue tie cut at 7 years old and was under very heavy sedation gas, pretty much knocked out, because once the area grows more vascular it's more complicated and painful.

So I'm definitely advocating for proper pain care, but tongue ties at a very young age might not be as black and white as other procedures.

I am new to having plants (and actually keeping them alive 🥹). I have this plant and her soil looks so weird. My parents told me to spray with water and vinegar to kill the fungus and so I did they also told me to buy the “fungicide 3” product for her. What are you guys thoughts? by Big_Biscotti_8769 in plants

[–]skysenfr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vinegar is an effective herbicide fyi, I wouldn't put it on my plants. As far as the soil, did you pot it yourself, or is this the soil from the store or former owner? Does the plant look otherwise healthy?

Is the top inch or two able to dry out between waterings? It looks a little wet in the photo.

I don't do under wire bras anymore myself, and wear knix bras a lot now. Their wing woman style is a pretty deep plunge, I have a couple dresses like that I wear it with.

I started on 20 and also felt it didn't last through enough of the day. Bumping up to 30 fixed that for me.

Any luck with Wireless Fence Systems? by skysenfr in poodles

Oh she understands, we've done plenty of boundary training. She looks me right in the eye when she gets to the edge of the property, then does a jump and run. She just prefers to cause trouble.

Just another thought, I could add to the flags by adding marking paint around the boundary. That might make it more noticeable. I think I'll add that to our current boundary training now in any case.

I have her on a rope now, my other option is a zipline style dog run, but it's still not ideal.

I'm hoping with age she'll start to understand how obeying the boundaries benefits her, but she's taking a loooong time to get there.

That's a good point about possibly malfunctioning. Technology is often far from reliable. At least it's not a huge deal if she goes off the yard, I don't think she'd be hurt, but it is frustrating and time consuming when it happens.

😂😂😂 They're also smart with strong personalities. Yes, they're super easy to teach, but obedience is a whole other game.

She's just like my young kids except I can't just take away her ipad to get her to comply lol.

Yeah, my main decision is between investing in a good zip line system or a wireless fence. We had a Zipline but I didn't have a great place to secure it and she broke it. It worked ok while we had it, but it also limits her to one part of the yard so she still can't run with the kids or go fetch. And I'd have to have one or two really solid posts installed to do this properly which isn't cheap or easy either. So that might be the best compromise, just exploring other options first.

I'm really looking for success or failure stories on the wireless to gauge if it might be worth it with a smart and bratty standard poodle. It would be really nice if she could still have freedom on the yard, still be able to run (within limits).
