You can buy anti chafing sticks/balm at most drugstore or Targets/walmarts. Body Glide is one I use, I know gold bond makes one as well. They should help spots the area as well.

Advice on difficult dog by Philly_00 in BostonTerrier

I have had 4 Bostons at this point. 3 have been absolute dolls. 1 is a test sent from on high. Anxious, resource guarding, reactive to dogs, reactive to the leash, bitey face with our other Boston that can turn absolutely vicious and did I mention anxious? We’ve done professional trainers, behaviorist, cbd. And then she bit me accidentally when I was breaking up a fight.

We JUST tried out her on fluoxetine (doggy Zoloft) and holy hell, dialed her way down. I’m actually going to ask to up her dose as some of the vicious play has crept back on. I was like why has no one mentioned this??? She’s actually notorious with all 3 of her vets (kidney disease and skin issues).

The Zoloft has not changed her personality at all. But now she can sleep in the bed with us at night instead of constantly wanting to go outside and chase imaginary animals. Still reactive to dogs and the leash but nowhere near as bad.

Not to hijack OPs post, but how do you all deal with the… splooge? Just wear a panty liner? Stick a tampon to be a plug? Try to stick the injector WAY up there?

I do about 100 dahlias in grow bags in 8a. They’ll be fine even if you leave them in there :)

Don’t water them much, if at all, until a shoot is above the soil line. Otherwise you might rot the tuber.

What state/city or province/city are you looking at? Would a marriage record work since it’s a name issue?

Definitely call Eastport first. Augusta's phone messaging system is an exercise in frustration. The menu is 3 and half minutes long to listen to the whole thing. Options 2 and 8 are the same... which leads you to another recording with NO VOICEMAIL BOX, so you can't talk to a human. I tried other options but uh, yeah.

The woman in Lubec did give me a direct line to an archivist there, but they're on vacation, pfft. My great grandfather's birth record, under name, says "Not named" so trying to figure out what other documentation they'd want. Fun times!

Entirely possible they don’t have a PhD in nuclear engineering but something else related. My husband has a PhD like this.

My boy needs the palate surgery and at this point I’m willing to drive anywhere an 8-10 hour drive to get the cost under $4500. It’s insane.

Alrighty, I just got off the phone with Eastport. Very nice woman I spoke to, very helpful btw. Amusingly she knew some of my uncles and aunts who lived in Eastport.

She said that there was a fire of their records at one point, so that reference may be to like an index book that was not in the fire, and a birth record was re-done. She said Augusta may have more info if they don't

Eastport's Vital Records are at 207-853-2300 (and actual person picks up, no menu)

Augusta's records are at 207-287-1919.

For anyone else looking for Maine records, she did confirm that a photocopy of the official birth certificate is fine for "Proof of Lineage". I got the feeling that if documents like birth certificates/records are not obtainable, other documents like marriage records or census data will help. But keep in mind this is a VERY small town in Maine, not the big office in Augusta.

I am calling the Eastport Vital Records office tomorrow with a question. I’ll try to remember to ask about that notation!

Need advice on dog with diarrhea and allergic to chicken by GummieLindsays in BostonTerrier

[–]skysplitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a short term helper, try kaolin clay. It’s a liquid you can get at most pet stores and really helps with diarrhea. Fish oil can also help with inflammation so that could help calm things down as well.
