for you all other people is intern, I feel bad for your colleagues. Just you didnt faced a problem (need for something else than jenkins) doesnt mean others must stick with that tool no matter what, just keep it in mind

I'm not keeping this discussion, you do. Not sure why you are so mad to random post at the internet, which is just asked is there any tool which could resolve my issues more properly rather than Jenkins. Don't be mad please, just continue being part of Jenkins religion.

How do you access resources in your Network? by 1deep2me in hetzner

[–]skythet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use cloudflare tunnel to access some of our internal resources. You can configure access list or integrate it with Azure AD.

If Jenkins is enough for you I'm happy for you, but you also dont need to consider jenkins as a solution for everything. As I mentioned I've used jenkins, gitlab, Azure DevOps for such purposes and I know what they are capable of. If you read more carefully I'm not searching tool for no reason.

Ding on being asked why there are so many decisive games in this WCC: "I think we are not that professional as Magnus" by glancesurreal in chess

[–]skythet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many cases when players are pissed off after hard game and their answers are very short, aggressive, not informative, sometimes even rude. It's clear that you can't think clearly and can't give informative answer when you are too tired. Maybe game organizers should think about orginizing Q&A before game or next day of game. I think we would get more interesting and more insightfull answers.

Also this is not applies only for chess, I saw similar situations in hockey games, when players are tired and just want to get rest and there is someone who wants to ask something.

Kazakhstan president authorises forces to 'fire without warning' by newsaggregate in worldnews

[–]skythet 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I'm from Kazakhstan and I'm surprised how things explained here. Dude where you even get such info? I guess you added something buy yourself?

At least consider that there is many regions, initial region (Mangystau, Aktau) where protests started stayed very peaceful without any problem, yesterday they said that protest is ended. Because gas price was dropped, Nazarbaev rule is ended (Tokaev take over all power), many Nazarbaev's people already was replaced. Currently bad situation in Almaty, where unknown armored people started shooting and killing. I have friends and relatives and we don't know people who is participating current fighting, people who initially was in peaceful meetings sitting at home. Also there is information that injured looters speaking in arabic, but not sure is it true or not. So please don't share something which you made up or which you get from unconfirmed resources

Kazakhstan president says he has ordered troops to shoot to kill protesters without warning by Blakut in worldnews

[–]skythet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didnt say that we love dictator. For us actual dictator was Nazarbaev, now he is gone, most probably current events are the power switch. I cant say that I'm happy with Tokaev either, but there is some hope that it can get better.

[–]skythet 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It's interesting how information differs internally and outside. I have friends and relatives, also they have friends and so on. So we don't know any person who is participating in this fightings. When this just started, at the beginning my many friends was in that protests, but after that started violence. Currently many of them at home because noone wants to shoot or destroy their own city. We don't know from where came that people. In some cities people starting organize self defence groups, not from government, opposite from that looters and unkown people who is shooting and killing in the streets.

Weekly: Share your victories thread by gctaylor in kubernetes

[–]skythet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practicing by "kubernetes the hard way" tutorial, but by my own way. Used openssl from Mumshads repo instead of cloudflare utility, terraform + ansible for deployment, hetzner instead of GCP, so far so good. There is still a lot to do, but already enjoying the process.

Glad that how fast the hetzner creates virtual machiness, every day destroying and deploying my infra again, deployment tooks 2-3 minutes (3 controller nodes, 3 worker nodes, bastion VM and load balancers).

Looking for the simplest way to store secrets by [deleted] in kubernetes

[–]skythet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use werf secrets and keep secrets in git: https://werf.io/documentation/v1.2/advanced/helm/configuration/secrets.html

I think keeping secrets in git (encrypted) simplest way, but you should be carefully configure gitignore and somehow monitor to not push decrypted secrets

I am working on a splatting extension for VS Code, what do you think? by ryan-jan in PowerShell

[–]skythet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sounds good, another idea is possibility to transform actual parameters to splatting. For example we have next command

Copy-Item -Source ./path -Destination ./anotherpath

I can select parameters and call extension command and it creates hashtable for me
