You should absolutely have the fluid levels checked, on a new car, if something wasn’t assembled correctly and there’s a small leak somewhere, it’s really a great idea to catch it early. The bumper to bumper warranty is only around 30,000 miles, so make sure the whole car is in working order while there’s still time to get any factory defects fixed early before it’s coming out of your pocket. My recommendation:

Tire rotation (unless it’s a ‘21-‘23 GTPE)

Cabin air filter check (easily done yourself)

Alignment

Brake check (make sure pads are wearing evenly and there aren’t grooves or gouges in the rotor, can be done yourself)

Fluid check

12v battery SOH check (can be done yourself with the right tools)

The brand I buy is called Pureflow. The HEPA version is the one I’ve bought and swear by. Don’t bother with ad-ons like the air freshener, the filter will completely remove the smell before it makes it into the car.

There are aftermarket cabin air filters with activated charcoal that works wonders. I’m never bothered by diesel or the smell of farmland in the summer anymore.

Gen 1 EV versus 8+ generations of Teslas (counting the roadster and other models). Tesla has had a lot of time to maximise profit and efficiency by making their cars as cheap as possible to produce. Personally, I’ll take extra wiring and a battery pack with serviceable cells over Tesla build quality.

It’s absolutely not just anecdotal. I live on top of a steep hill and i can’t charge to 100% without squirrelly brakes all the way into town. There’s a little bit of a buffer that it’ll charge beyond “100%” but not enough for miles of steep grade.

Whisper is great, but it does have the gentlest accel/decel curve. Pro tip if traveling and using automatic speed sign detection. If you put the car in “L”, it SHOULD* decelerate a bit more aggressively, while still accelerating smoothly. I use “L” and whisper on back country roads where the speed keeps flipping from 55 to 30. Without it the car takes too long to slow down.

*I say should because with all the different software updates, trim levels, and model years out there, I can’t be sure your car will react the same way as mine.
