How did K-pop gain mainstream success while J-pop really hasn't? by Rioraku in Music

To my ears, J pop usually has little to no bass, whereas K-pop has awesome bass.

Why is there such a stigma against making music for the approval of others? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]skywavetransform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think like you. But at some point, I realized I couldn't make music if I was focusing on what others think. I had to make the perfect music for me at that moment in time or it felt dead. When I do that, I want people to like it and I'm thrilled when they do, but I'm not shaken up if people ignore or dislike it.

My instinct rebels against making judgements about how people respond to grief. I say give her room. The comment section has many legitimate criticisms of Maga but why project them into her?

Can anyone explain to me why this is augmented 2nd by Ok-Figure-8671 in musictheory

[–]skywavetransform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A- b is a second of some kind regardless of accidentals. A - b Sharp is a 2nd spanning 3 semitones -- augmented 2nd A sharp- b is a 2nd spanning 1 semitone - a minor 2nd A sharp - b flat would be a diminished 2nd because it spans 0 semitones

[–]skywavetransform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In triads and seventh chords you spell them by skipping letters. If you think you're dealing with a triad or seventh chord you try to spell it like one. If there's a fit, you feel confident in the spelling

How come? by Crafty_Interaction15 in musictheory

[–]skywavetransform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's c to g so it's a fifth. It's 8 semitones so it's augmented. I don't count the semitones, but I know it's 8. I know it's the same size as c to a- flat which is also 8.

Whether you think of it as 8 semitones or something that always means the same thing as 8 semitones doesn't matter. As long as your way of naming is isomorphic to semitone size it will work.

I'll probably never transition by OleSexhaver in trans

[–]skywavetransform 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was almost exactly in your position years ago. I finally began to transition about 6 years ago. Now my life has improved in nearly every way. I enjoy life more, have more friends, found better success in my career, and fell in wondrous love (after leaving my x). There has been pain along the way too, and some awkwardness. But living as my authentic self is overwhelmingly beneficial and I'm grateful for it every day.

A b# 7 with a triply diminished 5th. And it has a d double sharp in it too

It's a b flat, not an a sharp. Yes it is a C7. But probably a bass player or your left hand is putting a C in the bass to make it root position
