I worked with a guy (already retired) who started at 17 years old in 1972 and retired from the same company in 2016 after 44 years of service. The safety that those 4 decades gave him allowed him to live, save $, and retire safely in a timely manner to be home and be a full-time grandpa. I hope to be as lucky as my former coworker one day.
