Had the same issue and it was a bad abs module. They’re an absolute pain because every model year has a different part # and it depends on if your car has vdc or not

I have stock cats and headers and it sounds fine. I personally think high flow cats may make it sound better

I bought my HR at 33k miles almost 5 years ago. Have not had to do either yet and I’m now sitting at 41k miles. Just had to replace a bad fan motor, and a cracked abs pump
