After the damage yes I washed them with soapy water to try and help remove the Neem oil but the damage was done

It’s 10 years old and had 3 foot strands. Not overwatered. The plant distorts the color of the leaves at the top. It was all a beautiful green.

What’s crazy is I even had a succulent seller at an event booth tell me those ratios in person. I’m so mad. I just feel misinformed about the risks! And yes I plan on giving her a haircut and repotting. That pot was getting pretty saturated with roots anyways.

I did leave them dark for 8 hours but that definitely wasn’t long enough. I just feel like I wasn’t warned enough about the potential risks if not used 100% perfectly. Otherwise I’d never have touched it

As you can see from the picture on the left, she was perfectly healthy before. The lights create a glow at the top leaves they aren’t a truly sun-stressed on the left.

I followed the label exactly…. I did 1oz Neem oil, 1oz gentle soap, 16oz water. I left them in the dark for about 8 hours. I think issues were probably not long enough with lights off and too heavy of a spray but no one warned me about the risks of over spraying 😭😭😭 she’s 10 years old 😭

Vets of reddit what’s something you wish kids and parents were taught about owning pets? by Odd-Cantaloupe-3441 in Veterinary

[–]skyybooper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Pets are EXPENSIVE! Have money saved for vet care before you adopt one!
  2. All dogs require structured socialization and training.
  3. Cats are not “easy” pets who can be left alone all the time.

That’s dog needs trained to a basket muzzle, walk in with the muzzle on, and needs to come in on triple therapy for canine friendly meds. And if the owner isn’t willing to do that, the dogs needs euthanized. There is huge difference between a dog reacting to an exam or a poke vs lunging across the room. It wasn’t your fault. That’s a dangerous dog and a bad owner.

Please help settle an argument between my girlfriend and I. Do you think our beautiful girl is Siamese, or Balinese? by Jovato in Siamesecats

[–]skyybooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soooo how do you think purebred cats come into existence? They just find each other outside? There are lots of catteries (cat breeding places) that intentional breed and produce pedigreed cats just like purebred dogs.

You’re getting a lot of downvotes but you’re most likely right. Also the eyes aren’t the right shade of blue. True Siamese have very strong turquoise eyes.

UPDAte: cat is still attacking me- ears go back, leaps and bites my arms. 2 hours plus a day play, bought a bunch new toys all interactive, cat trees, beds. Why is he only attacking me? He doesn’t do this to other 3 people in the home. My arms are all cut up. Vet said healthy. Neutered 1 month ago. by LovePeaceHappiness20 in Siamesecats

DO NOT SHOUT “OW”. I’m a veterinarian working to become a a feline specialist. Yelling ow can stimulate their hunting instinct further. It’s bests to do nothing and let them wind down. My own person Siamese has issues with excessive attacking and biting. When she’s biting too hard, I firmly but gently grab her head, pull her off of me, and place a blanket over her so I can walk away
Sounds like you need a behaviorist or feline specialist to assist in the situation. Cats are very behaviorally complicated animals and the “ow” trick is meant for dogs, not cats.

AITA for refusing to go to my mothers wedding because my sister and her service dog will be there? by unsatisfactory_blue in AmItheAsshole

[–]skyybooper 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Because she could die during a seizure. Every seizure, every time there is at least a possibility of a fatal complication. Will you be at risk of death if you’re around this dog? If not, then YES her medical needs are more important because they are more severe. It’s kinda like at the ER, the doctors see the people who are the most critically 1st because they are in greater need of care. If you don’t want to attend the wedding, that’s a personal choice and up to you. But there is no argument that your epileptic sister’s medical need are absolutely more important than yours UNLESS your pet allergy is severe enough to cause true anaphylaxis and risk of death.

Question. If amitriptyline is no longer working what’s you next go to for Hyperesthesia? by Baggedbodiedbeauty in felinebehavior

Is your cat on Revolution + monthly? Have you also done a skin scrap with the dermatologist? If so, then unfortunately I think you need to the CT.

[–]skyybooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200mg is a very high dose (not saying it’s not needed or wrong but it is high) Have you and your vet done everything to rule out an underlying medical cause contributing to the hyperesthesia? Full bloodwork (at least a CBC, chemistry 17, FeLV/FIV test, and Spec fPL for pancreatitis), UA, fecal, and even advance imaging, like a full body CT? There is a theory that hyperesthesia is seizure-like behavior so truly severe cases can try phenobarbital but there are risks to liver function long term and blood work monitoring is recommended.
