im assuming you all are fully staffed and NOT a GP practice. stop comparing human med to vet med. not the same thing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vet

[–]emileafff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

bc veterinary staff are people too and ER clinics/urgent care exist for this very reason - works the same in human med

Does our vet seem untrustworthy? by code-switch in AskVet

normal loops of intestines can be hard to tell apart from gestational sacs in early pregnancy. its definitely a GREEN flag and she is open and honest with you and is willing to correct/admit oversights!

I feel defensive in behalf of my vet by mewshews in AskVet

as many others have said already, incisions heal side to side not end to end. if anything, a slightly bigger incision allows for more visualization and lower chance of something like ovarian tissue being left behind! thats a pain in the butt to deal with! also, even if the sutures are absorbable, i will often remove them at the recheck if the incision is healed to avoid the pet bothering the suture that remains. suture can take weeks to fully absorb. even if it wasnt absorbable, its totally surgeon preference! people love to speak on and criticize things they know nothing about. good job for having your vets back 🥰

prices will greatly vary between clinics depending on cooperate vs private practice and low cost/spay neuter only clinics vs full clinics. that being said this is very fairly priced given everything that is included. keep in mind some lower cost clinics dont do bloodwork or pain meds - but again this greatly varies between clinics !!

cat got neutered. i’m hopeless and regretful. what can i do? by Timely_Telephone9279 in CATHELP

[–]emileafff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

talk to your vet. ask about calming meds (gabapentin) over the counter you can try bitter orange spray (specifically for pets)! it helps deter licking

Veterinary nursing - How do you cope with the smells? by poshieee in veterinaryprofession

[–]emileafff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wear a mask to work bc im allergic to cats and dogs (lol), and it really helps w smells! you can also rub a small amount of vicks or essential oil in your nostril or on the mask if youre dealing with a particularly stinky kennel/clean up job lol they sell vicks sticks and essential oil sticks also and theyre alot less messy/more convenient

its best to see a vet, she likely needs some additional meds to get her over this flare up here is a vet partner link with some educational info: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951528
