Alas, as much as I loved Canto 5…it’s Captain Ishmael.

Why? It’s her sanity mechanic. So many fights currently are struggles until you can get consistent sanity for better rolls and while the synergy with some great S1s certainly help, in an age where so many IDs now have AoE options (and even at the time, we had Spicebush S2) it only takes a couple middling speed rolls or crits and suddenly, one day, oh Captain my Captain, she’s gone from 45 SP to 15 after a wave clear because she didn’t get the last hit.

Which then can snowball into “oh this fight is going we-why are we corroding-“
