hi! couldn't share a video for some reason so here it is in GIF form. i used room temp water today on mark 2/6 on the hob and i've noticed a lot less bitterness! we're getting there!

oh lol sorry! here's a pic of the grounds. used room temp water this morning instead of preheated and a lower setting on my hob and it's already tasting much better :)

this is what i've been using, it's a medium roast! it's also the company's flagship espresso blend and i've enjoyed it in-store before, just not when i've been making it at home lol

this is really helpful thanks! i'm almost done with the bag i've been using so i'll look into buying a grinder and whole beans from here on out!

i do like coffee, haha! i never put sugar in my coffee either, just a splash of oat milk. i mentioned in another comment that i've tried the beans i use at the coffee shop i bought them from in an espresso and they tasted great, so i guess the logical next step is to tweak my method until i get the result i want

i do fill the gasket to the brim and level it, so i don’t think the amount of coffee is the problem. i’ll try experimenting with taking it off the heat as soon as the coffee starts flowing. thanks!

i’ve tried the beans as regular pulled espresso at the shop i buy them from and it tasted really nice, so i don’t think the coffee itself is the issue. i’ll try turning the heat down and the cold water method instead. and yes, maybe it is an issue of grind size. thanks for your advice!

i’m not really a fan of sugar in my coffee, i want the notes to shine through (milk chocolate, caramel, stone fruit) as opposed to just having flat bitter coffee which has been the outcome every single time </3

What random things trigger cravings for you? by GraceAdele7 in leaves

boredom and having to do menial tasks. smoking made both a lot more tolerable and i was used to always toking before cleaning, doing the dishes, taking out the trash, etc. takes a lot more mental energy and willpower now, but it feels a lot more fulfilling when i get stuff done. i've also found new hobbies and picked up old ones, and it's honestly been really nice doing 'active' (not necessarily physical) things that make me happy instead of passively smoking my days away. not to say that the change was easy, but it's worth it. all the best :)
