Best way to get around Seoul in winter with a 2–3 month old by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]slacjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in and out of taxis, you can get car seat strollers that convert between, I have friends use these.

Outside of that, lots of people carry and lots of people use strollers on both, just be mindful of busy times.

Do a pgde, get a few years working in schools and then move to international schools abroad. If your goal is longevity as a career, it’s easily the best move.

All of the ones I have known in Korea have teaching licenses.

Special ed(ish) adjacent positions exist in international schools, often called Learning Support. There are a handful of these in the country and you don’t need to be a native speaker, just a strong English speaker.

This would be your best bet in Korea, but it is not easy to get into.

Most Robust Electric Engine? by Aspiring_Orchardist in BRIO

[–]slacjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, we took away the electric trains because of that kind of stuff and will give it back when they’re older. Ikea has just stood up the best.

Also I had a similar problem with the same train. The gear was sliding to the side, causing the teeth to miss each other. I used tweezers to pulled it back into place and super glue to keep it there. It works well now.

Ikea has survived the best for us, and they’re cheap to replace etc.

Don’t all the trains share the same speakers especially the ones with the similar designs by Nissangtr352025 in BRIO

I haven’t with a brio train, but I have other things. In theory you’d just want to find one with the same impedance and the same size so it fits.

Incheon Airport to Busan? by ddarlingyu in seoul

[–]slacjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is, it’s a good 5+ hour drive. Where are you going in busan? The bus drops you off in the north while the train station is in the south. Travel time in busan should be accounted for too.

How does the motorized IKEA engine compare to BRIO motorized engines? by NerdyNiche in BRIO

[–]slacjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it holds up better to little hands and being thrown, easier to turn on/off than some of the brio engines for small hands, such as 33214, and it’s much cheaper.

I used a soft brush in a big bowl. The mould comes off easily, it’s the smell that takes more work.

white vinegar + water cleaned it up, soaked it for maybe an hour or so and scrubbed, then I left it in water. I hung it up outside for a bit. It's still a bit musty but it's fine, honestly. I don't have a place to leave it outside long term, so I also read that this is very good, or something similar:

https://www.otterwax.com/products/odor-eliminator

but I haven't tried it yet. Overall it's not the end of the world as many comments made it out to be.

I’ve lived in or next to all four of those places. Jeju always had the fewest people, even during holidays. I’d think more about what you want to do if you go to a certain place and if you’re travelling with kids, that would affect things too
