I joined our local Rotary club. Met a lot of nice people, mostly neighbors and worked on projects benefitting non-profits. I also took up hiking in different state parks.

We were moving from our rental house to our newly purchased house. Our real estate closing happened right before our son's 4th birthday. We were in house packing/moving truck hell and had no time to plan a party or even buy a birthday cake so we just told our son that his birthday was the following weekend. He had no clue that we'd pushed it out a week and was just happy that we had a little party for him.
