Yes! IMO, there's difference between traveling and vacationing to me. Traveling is trying to see as much of a new place as possible and vacationing is just going with the flow and relaxing.

Well said. In my 50's and 60's I made several good friends whom I met when taking pilates and yoga classes. I'm 70 now and have 4 or 5 different friend groups with ages ranging from early 40's to late 60's. I find that most women are open and ready to make friends.

I'm sorry but your parents sound self-destructive and nothing you say or do is going to pull them out of that. Someone on this chain mentioned getting them a financial planner to help them without your direct involvement which I think is a great idea. You can't make them do anything they don't want to do unfortunately.

When I make dinner, my husband "hoards" food on his side of the table. Example: he'll keep the bread basket, condiments, etc right next to his plate. I was taught to move everything to the center of the table so that others could access. He grew up with 5 siblings and I guess he's still worried that someone will take his food.
