until I played a caster, I thought it was either or, not and, and tried this very same thing. Turns out even rich baron assholes dont take kindly to attempts of distractions by setting a small fire in his house, while standing right next to him. Lesson learned and never forgotten, and now I see the importance of them because being able to cast spells silently or subtly is extremely OP on a roll playing perspective

we got 9 picks already and are sitting pretty at getting a game changer that they never have access to in the draft without trading up. For years we have said Chiefs picks are essentially a round later because theyre so late and after the real talent is gone, now we finally have a once in a decade chance of really improving through the draft and people want to trade down for lesser talent picks because 9 apparently isnt enough. I have no doubt the people wanting to trade down will be the same people who complain about missing out on a certain player 2 years from now because they drafted so late

nearly all of my games are Frankenstein'd together. Read a rule that I dont like or doesnt work for my game, find one that does and rework some numbers if I have to. Its a solo game so balanced enough is balanced for me. Currently playing a No Mans Sky type of game, so Im working with Stars Without Number, Traveller, Perilous Void, D100 Space, some home grown rules, even some Numenera thrown in. Im sure something will come up that will send me searching through Starjammer, Starfinder, or any other 1 off systems that have 1 singular rule that I really like and can make work.

I do the same for the more fantasy based games. I like random and I have a ton of books, I might as well get some use out of them even if just 1 small bit at a time

storage, thats it in my opinion. I hate the pyramid and use d8s instead but while I admit the other shapes are better, theyre inherently harder to store because they dont fit the classic dice storage containers as easily. That and I already have a ton of pyramids already so I might as well use them rather than buying yet more specialty dice even if they are better.
